If you like cheese and wine this is the place for you

Firstly I am a wine and cheese addict so this was the place for me. Great selection of cheeses from local to far flung. Great wine selection as well. Nice servings of cheese from 3-5 cheeses from a list of approx 20. Also menu for other meals but did not bother to look as only interest was cheese... read more

We stopped in for supper before the hockey game. Service was very good. We had wine and cheese prior to supper and it was very good. I had the buffalo tartar and lamb. The tartar was tasty and it was prepared very well, Enjoyed both, Service for wine and food was very prompt and the services friendly.

There are restaurants up and down Stephen Avenue - everything from pubs to fine dining. Over the years I've eaten at the restaurant next door several times and never had a good meal there (see my review of Blink), I've eaten at the pub two doors down, but somehow never wandered into Divino. I guess I saved the best for... More

The food was fresh and local. Rarely do I clear my plate at a restaurant, I did here. The price for food was fair and comparable for the standard served. Our table had a variety of appy's and mains consisted of Elk, pork, steak and a pasta dish. All very declared outstanding. Nice atmosphere, open kitchen. Only downside noted was... More

Our party of four visited Divino for supper recently. Overall, the food and service were outstanding. Great wine list and many options by the glass. The appetizers we ordered were the moules et frites (mussels and fries), apple/pear/endive salad, and the tempura green beans with a hot honey mustard dip. All were excellent but the salad size (especially compared to... More

Divino is a great restaurant in downtown Calgary with a historic setting and perfect for any occasion. We had a dinner with friends and had some cheese selections to whet our appetites. They have a small but very representative selection of cheeses that appeal to any palate. The wine list is also very good. Not exhaustive of every region but... More

The food was pretty good but the service was probably among the worst I've experienced in a long time. We received our drinks and firsts quickly but the plates were empty and our glasses were dry long before our meals showed up. We waited with nothing to eat or drink for nearly 45 minutes. The food was dropped off by... More

Stopped here for a night cap after a disappointing pub dinner. Loved it! Great cheese platter, amazing flavours and lots of it. Great wines too Very knowledgable and capable staff. Highly recommend!

I really did not expect much from such a regular-looking bistro, but I have been left in awe after tasting this amazing dish. So savoury and complex in taste, yet light in texture and aromas. This was not cooked, but crafted with talent. You know in cookshows when chefs talk about how perfect cubing must be? Now I get it:... More

This is definitely one of the best and most consistent restaurants in Calgary. The food is always great and they are wonderful in terms of substitutions and/or modifications. The wine list has to be one of the top two in town and the somm is great.
