Generally unimpressed with food - portions average to small for the price and quality was mediocre. I had short rib sandwich which seemed more like roast beef considering the au jus it came with. Was a bit salty and ends of the grilled bread were very hard. Fries were very good. My teens had a pesto chicken quesadilla which they... More

Wow. I need this restaurant in Oregon. Everybody was welcoming and paying attention to our needs while we ate. The Chinese chicken wrap was awesome, salmon is cooked right, not overcooked, pasta is not too oily and tasted better than many Italian restaurant. The salad was not too overwhelming on dressing, and they did not slack on on presentation of... More

It was a blazing hot day, so we were in search of a patio on which to feed our faces. As we were passing the Cactus Club Cafe, we couldn't help but notice the bright yellow umbrellas set up on their patio facing McLeod. The greeter was very pleasant, and the waitress even more so. There is a bit of... More

I've been a regular at the Cactus Club since the days of the rubber chicken. For those that don't understand, back in the early 90's the Cactus Club restaurant theme was well barnyard. Cows, rubber chickens, I almost remember hay on the wood floors?! lol University friends and I would drop in between classes for a bite. Good times. Fast... More

My wife and I have visited the NE Cactus Club a few times since my last review, so I'll comment on all those visits this time around. The food remains very good, the menu is excellent, drinks are great, the atmosphere is loud and lively, and the service is consistently good. There's a reason why it's my "go to" restaurant,... More

I had the appetizer ravioli and it was truly to die for, I shall dream about this for years to come. The steak however was probably the worse I've ever had. I ordered med rare, and it was raw, warmed on the outside, but raw on the inside. There were two of us and both our steaks were so tough... More

My fiancé and I dropped by on a Friday night for our last dinner in Calgary before returning home from vacation. We picked it because it was only about a mile from our hotel and just didn't have the energy to venture downtown...We did not have a reservation, but we were immediately seated in the patio, as we requested. We... More

Great staff, very good food for a chain restaurant, with a different menu; not the typical items. Have dined multiples and it is consistently very good. Bar area is livelier than restaurant side.

Menus prepared by first Canadian winner of Iron Chef America, Rob Freenie. The Dijon Salmon and Thai red curry lingcod is to die for. The Sangria is the best. A bit expensive though for the good food and ambience.

We went for dinner on a Sunday night. It was surprisingly busy, yet the service was very prompt and friendly. We had the duck clubhouse and a rice dish. Both were beyond our expectations. Looking forward to going back.
