Description: Bookers BBQ + Crab Shack brings an authentic Southern atmosphere to Calgary with a comfortable, upbeat dining and drinking experience. Located in a century-old brick warehouse, Bookers is a hidden gem at the gateway to Calgary’s East Village. Seasoned BBQ chefs slow smoke over 200 lbs of Alberta chicken, beef, and pork every day and serve it alongside fresh seafood, local produce, signature cocktails, and original, house made sauces and rubs. Bookers is Calgary’s oldest BBQ institution where freedom and fun are ingrained in the culture, kitchen and guest experience.

Meat, meat, meat, my boys were in heaven. Great atmosphere, great food, bit pricy for all the family if you don't go for the crab and ribs specials, but otherwise we all loved it.

I have visited Booker's a few times, even dating back to when it was known as Kingfisher's, and have left satisfied every time. Our party of six went for AYCE crab/ribs on a Sunday night. We had a reservation and were immediately seated, the restaurant was full, but not packed. Drink orders were quickly taken along with the correct assumption... More

Went for business function. Just terrible experience. For 60 or so ppl they had one waitress taking orders for drinks .The reservation was for 730 by 9 pm they just took our orders. By 945 we were delivered a frozen Cesar salad which was loaded in dressing. For dinner I had the driest toughest chicken, with cold mushrooms. By 1015... More

For what it is, a tavern offering southern BBQ, Booker's succeeds. Staff were friendly and attentive, no extraordinary but not leaving us feeling ignored. The food was wholesome BBQ, good flavour but not gourmet. Though, the jalapeño mac n cheese was exceptionally good.

Came here for my birthday for the all you can eat crab and was very disappointed. The crab was not very good at all, nor was the service. It was not busy at all and it seemed to take forever to get a drink or a refill of crab legs. The only saving grace was that our server let me... More

Bookers seems to be a bit of a Cowtown institution - interesting location, if nothing else. It appears to be be a good place for music, beer and letting the good times roll although we were there perhaps a bit early for the wildlife to be out. Looking at the menu is just like being down South - but, there... More

Four of us met for drinks and dinner on a freezing Calgary night. Service was so slow we had to ask another waitress to find ours - she told us she forgot we were there! My catfish was a minnow - the smallest fillet I have ever seen. My wife's ribs were fatty - like they had not been smoked... More

I love Cajun food, and was looking forward to seeing this place. Our waitress was fairly grumpy. The cocktails were decent. The Bbq platter with pulled pork, chicken crab, cole slaw, shrimps and fries were tasteless. The dessert (pineapple rum cake) was better. The bar looked very cool and there is a small patio outside.

Went for the brisket but they were sold out by the time we arrived at about 7.30 on a Friday evening. It was not very busy so we were somewhat surprised about that. Our group of three had ribs, two of us,and 1/4 BBQ chicken. The chicken seemed to be more spicy than BBQ flavour but was OK. The ribs were... More
