Best Poutine

We took our kids and nephews here for lunch today and it was so good. We all had the traditional poutine and they had some great retro drink options. Their menu is super extensive and you can get pretty much anything on your poutine. The food came out very quickly, was hot and fresh, and we all... read more

Several veggie poutine options, all GF. Recommend the loaded veggie or nacho. Hand cut fries, fresh veggies, yummy guacamole, amd savoury gravy with real cheese curds. Delish.

I have been to the Big Cheese many times and quite enjoy it. I encourage anyone visiting Calgary to give this a try, as it really is a taste of Canadian cuisine. Outside of Quebec this is one of the better poutines you will find in Canada.

What is there to say about The Big Cheese. Its a poutinerie. That glorious Quebecois creation of fries, cheese curds, and gravy. But The Big Cheese does it a little different. They offer the Traditional poutine, but they also have a full menu of different variations, some with beef, some with chicken, some with pork, and one that comes with... More

I needed something else to have Sunday when most of the core was closed, and we were unable to get into Smoke's (which I hadn't been to either) and needed some sort of poutine to get through my miserable shift. Well, I was let down. I've never seen a poutine take so long. Did they have to generate their own... More

Shared a poutine with smoked meat on it and was not impressed with much of its toppings. Sauce was okish but could have been more generous on the cheese and meat. For a large poutine it was kind of small.

I was looking forward to having some poutine. A rare treat. I think the fried and gravy were good, but it was hard to taste because I found it too spicy. I ordered the standard, original vegetarian poutine but it looked like they put chilli flakes on it. Probably ok for most people, but way too spicy for me. I... More

Whilst I love fine dining, and cooking with fresh ingredients, some days you just have to give into a lunchtime craving for something naughty...and poutine fits that role nicely. Many think that poutine is a simple thing and it's just 'fries with gravy and cheese' and while I guess it that's correct there are definitely places you can get a... More
