Well, not like they make it in Quebec

Being from Quebec many years ago I had high hopes that they had managed to box something good from the province and export it to Calgary. Don't get me wrong - the food was decent, but ended up to be more of a cheap imitation than a copy of the real thing. Each of us tried something different from... read more

Big Cheese is a cute little poutinerie, with a cozy atmosphere. It feels like a fun cafe, and the art on the walls is pretty interesting. When we got to Big Cheese I was shocked at the prices. It's pretty expensive for dressed up french fries, but my brother said it was totally worth it. There are several menu options... More

Its worth making the trek to Big Cheese in Calgary. This place has authentic poutine and at a decent price. They also have loyalty program, which is cool. Great staff, great food and its cheap what more do you want?

This is a find my son and his fiancée happened upon in the Kensington area of Calgary. When we visited there recently they took us there. The selection is overwhelming at first - from traditional to peppercorn beef, buffalo chicken, porky pig, loaded veggie and on and on. They have it all. We were happy to join the French Fry... More

This was by far one of the worst poutines I have ever eaten. My boyfriend paid $28 for 2 larges and boy was that a waste of money. The fries were crusty and dry, even being drenched in gravy... Gravy that was bland! Grossly sweet, overly peppered, and honestly tasted like it was watered down. Thank god I put bacon... More

First time for me to visit the place, and I was just mesmerized with their poutine selections! The poutine were served in small brown containers, kid friendly, modern clean design and best of all - they even have poutine dessert! This is a novelty place, highly recommended for poutine lovers!!! Due to its location, plan your visit since the line... More

With their extensive selection of poutines I was surprised that I was overwhelmed. Not usually am I at a loose for words but when I tried my pulled pork poutine, it was perfection!

The Canadians love a Poutine (Chips, Quebec Curds & Gravy) and in Calgary it's no different. As I am from North West England, an adopted Lancastrian, I can appreciate the love of this fine mix of food stuffs. But the Canadians take it to another level by adding various extra elements and my favorite in Calgary is here at the... More

I stopped here on my way to watch a Stanley Cup playoff hockey game on TV. I ordered the original Poutine. I chose a large, I found it was too big for me. Overall, I found it quite good in fact excellent. But, being in Alberta, I really don't have anything to compare it with! I am wondering about the... More

We took our kids and nephews here for lunch today and it was so good. We all had the traditional poutine and they had some great retro drink options. Their menu is super extensive and you can get pretty much anything on your poutine. The food came out very quickly, was hot and fresh, and we all agreed was the... More
