Good pub food, craft beers in Stephen Avenue

We go to Libertine sometimes after work for its laid back atmosphere - none of the "needs to be seen" crowd - just a couple of folks for good brews and food. The place can be packed especially when there is a hockey game and at that point, you might have to be really cozy with your company as... read more

It was Saturday night, but there were few guests, which probably says a lot. But hey, good wine and beer selection. There is not much else to say. Read into THAT what you will.

I was attending a private function. The food that they served was average. There was a limited selection of alcohol.

Great atmosphere for casual after work drinks or an easy lunch with colleagues. The menu is very diverse and changes pretty regularly. There's lots of options for vegetarians and gluten-free for those that require such dishes. Service is quick and pleasant. They also have great drink specials, especially during happy hour.

Average pub food. Meat is really bland and tasteless. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. Bread was bland and not toasted enough. Chicken was overcooked and way too greasy. Fries were greasy as well. You could almost smell and feel the grease in your mouth. We also had to wait about 40 minutes to get our meals. Way too long... More

We had a privet party for a charity at the Libertine upstairs area. With a full bank of Windows there is a great view of Stephen Avenue. The food and service was amazing. When there was hiccups the staff and management where their to make everything run smoth. With out the support and dedication of the staff this event wouldn't... More

Went with some colleagues for a business lunch and ordered the Chily-Lime Shrimp Tacos for lunch. Tacos were tasteless, the sauce didn't taste like chily or lime, and the salad was so old and wilted that it was draping the edge of plate. Really disappointing.

Attentive service and casual atmosphere made this the perfect place to end the week in Canada. The Duck Confit Club Sandwich was amazing from the first bite- rich and toasty and filling, perfectly paired with the Summer Ale. I'm already planning a return to Alberta and you can bet The Libertine is on my must eat list.

Stopped for a late lunch following the Pride parade and got an outdoor table to watch the parade aftermath. It was a fun scene. The duck confit club sandwich I ordered was very good and the bread was incredibly fresh. My partner's grilled salmon sandwich was very well spiced with good flavor though it could have been cooked a bit... More

Been here a few times, twice for dinner - once for lunch. Their beer selection is really nice, and the food is not typical restaurant/pub fare. And it tasted good too! I will say that it was a bit loud at lunch, but not their fault as the place is popular at lunch time.
