This trendy restaurant is central and easily accessible from most downtown hotels. The menu is pretty basic, not a lot of choice. I had the bison brisket, barely 4oz of rather chewy meat, not impressive at $32. My wife had the sausage, OK but that was literally all there was on the plate. All sides are a hefty extra cost... Located right across the street from the Calgary tower, this place is trendy and encourages family style sharing. The menu has a little bit of everything, but they take pride on their house cured meats. I started with the oysters, and they were fresh and delicious. The cocktails are unique and fresh. Dinner has everything, meat, meat, meat, fish, and... More

I went to this restuarant for a romantic dinner with my husband. Our server sold us on the charcut plate- claimed it wasthe reason people come to the restuarant. Described it was 4 types of meat. Five minutes late it came out. It was a mound of deli meat. When we complained the server took it away and then stuck... More

Everything was made fresh. The salads were spectacular. Oysters, Beet salad, Tuna salad. My descriptions are not great, but the presentation, the explanations, and the tastes were memorable. Three of us shared the salads. The main courses we tried were all wonderful. Lobster Linguini, Bison, & Octopus. Not cheap! The service was outstanding. The presentation was perfect. The drinks were... More

I think this place is popular because it is inside Le Germain - although the two are not connected. The service and food were average and the prices were insane. There is no value for your money here. With so many restaurants nearby, skip this one and try somewhere else.

Both service and food quality have seriously declined at this once great spot. Used to have a really great menu. Also noticeably less selection for vegetarians.

I visited Charcut in April...it was a gloomy, snowy day; perfect for a heavier meal. Upon being seated, we were presented with an amus-bouche of one of their seasonal dishes, which was a tasty surprise; a bit of beef with herbs on a piece of brioche. I ordered the butcher's steak, and it was lovely...perfectly cooked. Service was really good;... More

It was my daughters birthday and she requested to go to Charcut. The decor is contemporary and the atmosphere is vibrant. We decided to share and ordered a selection of dishes. We started off with an tasty tomato/mozzarella salad. Our main dishes arrived on a large platter with Chimichurra steak and prime rib. Our sides were the squash with feta... More

The upside of this restaurant is the food. It is a collection of unusual dishes. The ones we tried were very tasty. The downside of this restaurant is the food. If you are looking for a plain steak or roast, this isn't the place. We had a reservation and were seated immediately on arriving. The atmosphere is casual and a... More
