One of my top picks for lunch

As a frequent visitor to Charcut for lunch, I can definitely speak to the quality of the express lunches that they offer in less than an hour - about 90+% of the time, they hit the mark in my experience. Usually, the prime rib sandwich was a favourite, but have also had the chicken sandwiches... read more

Not sure what I was expecting but I guess more than what we got. The prime rib was fatty, chicken was dry, and the fish was ok. The sides were heavy, with great mounds of sour cream on the baked potato and the goat cheese did nothing for the beet salad. The food was ok but just not worth the... More

We ordered the prime rib - both pieces of meat were terrible...grisly, fatty, tasteless. All this for $4.50 per ounce! Very poor cuts and did not resemble prime rib. The rest of the sides/appetizers/dishes were underwhelming, to say the least. The salted caramel pudding for dessert was tasty but the sticky toffee pudding was nowhere near the quality and taste... Came here for my buddy's birthday and was pleasantly surprised as I thought it was a steakhouse and thought that it couldn't compare to the likes of Vintage. However, they were in fact not a steakhouse but a roast house - offering lots of different meats! The atmosphere and service was overall very good. Our server was very knowledgeable. Only... More

Took my wife there for her birthday. Made a reservation for 8pm but got there at 6pm, but they happily seated us. After placing our order, it was ready in around 10 minutes and the presentation was very good. After paying our bill my wife mentioned to our server that it was her birthday and thanking the server for the... More

Great food in a lively restaurant. Had the "Tomahawk Chop" which was delicious and great for sharing. Nice location in the Le Germaine Hotel downtown. We will return.

If you love great food with big bold flavours, love wow factor presentation, and love a great time out with friends and family you cannot go wrong with this fantastic dining spot. Classy without being pretentious, that goes from the room right through to the food and service. There is a great energy in the room, great smells too. Enjoy...

We went here for lunch on a Thursday. We did not have a reservation but were able to be seated in the dining room. They have a great menu and an awesome lunch special. Soup, Sandwich , Parmesan fries and a little bag of warm cookies for $15.00. The soup was hot, spicy and delicious, the sandwich a tuna melt... More

I enjoyed Charcut and was excited to see they opened a sister restaurant Charbar in the east village. The Argentinian inspired roasted meats were flavourful and moist. The refurbished historic building with neighbouring aromatic coffee roaster and artisan bakery are great compliments to the Charbar dining experience.

Had dinner here the other night. I'm a big meat eater so I was really looking forward to trying this place out. Although a fairly eclectic take on most meat dishes, I was disappointed with my prime rib. Ir was the thinnest cut I ever had and instead of it being lean it was very fatty with grissle (sp?) making... More
