Tried Charcut as it was close to the Marriott and I did not want to venture too far. I had been earlier in the year, but this visit did not meet the standards of my last visit. The food (Salad and Rotisserie Chicken) and sides (Hand Cut Chips and Potatoes) were tasty, but nothing special. The service was very friendly... More

Went here on a business dinner. Service and atmosphere is friendly and excellent. Seems to draw a pretty good crowd. But with all restaurants the key is how good the food is. I would say it is only fair to poor. Cut is a heavy protien/meat joint. Portions are very large. The dishes are, unfortunately, very uninspired. Its hard to... More

Charcut in downtown Calgary is a place for people who enjoy meat. They have a wide range of steak and other meat dishes accompanied by generous servings of vegetables. They describe the menu as urban rustic. The offer a sausage burger and a daily spit-roasted and smoked rotisserie dish. Vegetarians are not left out as they have a number of... More

When the restaurant was new it was far superior in food, menu, service and the general feel of the room. We enjoyed dining there and recommended Charcut to many. A meal in the summer of 2014 with out of town visitors was a disaster. The server, a professional whom we knew from other good downtown restaurants got us our apps... More

We've been excited about going to Charcut since moving to Calgary. As a fan of Connie's season of Top Chef, I couldn't wait to give them a try. The food was good, but it didn't live up to my expectations. We ordered: The Charcut Board (small) - There was WAY too much meat and it was too much of the... More

I had my CEO in town to visit a high level client. I decided on Charcut because I had heard good things about it, and wanted to show my CEO a little bit of an authentic Alberta dining experience. We had the charcuterie board and oysters to start, followed up with the BBQ Bison Brisket. The meal was great all... More

Despite the savoury food, the atmosphere is too loud to carry on a conversation with fellow diners. In fact, it needs to be curbed b/c it may become too irritating. Would definitely not return because of the loud volume of noise.

This trendy restaurant is central and easily accessible from most downtown hotels. The menu is pretty basic, not a lot of choice. I had the bison brisket, barely 4oz of rather chewy meat, not impressive at $32. My wife had the sausage, OK but that was literally all there was on the plate. All sides are a hefty extra cost... Located right across the street from the Calgary tower, this place is trendy and encourages family style sharing. The menu has a little bit of everything, but they take pride on their house cured meats. I started with the oysters, and they were fresh and delicious. The cocktails are unique and fresh. Dinner has everything, meat, meat, meat, fish, and... More

I went to this restuarant for a romantic dinner with my husband. Our server sold us on the charcut plate- claimed it wasthe reason people come to the restuarant. Described it was 4 types of meat. Five minutes late it came out. It was a mound of deli meat. When we complained the server took it away and then stuck... More
