A modern and casual style restaurant that does not really have the Greek ambiance. But Greek food that excells and I know Greek food . We had a shrimp appetizer with ouzo sauce, which was delicious and and roasted lamb which was very tasty. The portions were generous and the service excellent; however it was a quiet week day evening.... More

We really enjoy the food here. The outside just looks ok but once you go inside it is nice and clean. The mousaka is outstanding!!

We went there as a family. Being partially of Greek descent, we know our Greek food. Aside from a few dishes which were not Greek on the menu it is largely authentic. We had a variety of appetizers split among the table as per Greek custom (Mezes). They were all extremely tasty enjoyable. I then had the lamb chops which... More

Went for lunch and had their lemon chicken soup, good but too much rice and not enough broth. Had chicken with Greek salad which was really good and also had salmon special which was good.

The service was good and attentive. The food was tasty and the menu was truly Greek. The portions were big enough without leaving you feeling full and stuffed. Great value.

I grew up on Greek food and and was really looking forward to trying Calypsos hoping I'd stumbled on a gem. Overall the food can be summed up as greasy and underwhelming. There was some good (the calamari and the lamb) but basically the rest was "meh". The roast potatoes were under cooked and crunchy, the side of veggies was... More

I had my first dinning experience at Calypso about a month ago and I have just one word " marvelous". I am crazy for mussels and Calypso nailed it. I also like when I make a reservation they listen to my requests like pleases don't put me by the front door and by the restroom. I will be heading down... More

We stopped in to Calgary sat sept 21 at approx 1930hrs and found our way to this rest based on the reviews. When you arrive you may become slightly uncomfortable as it looks like a typical strip mall rest. You enter to find a very esthetic feel to the surroundings. We were seated promptly and served immediately. The menu is... More

We were in the mood for something Mediterranean and after looking at TA we settled on trying Calypso's Taverna. It was a drive to get there but it was worth it; we weren't disappointed. The owners have done a very nice job creating a pleasant and comfortable dining room, the service was efficient and very welcoming, it is very much... More

The restaurant is located in a strip mall and looks nothing special from the outside but the interior is quite different. It's quite large and pleasant. Parking outside of the restaurant is very limited but there is plenty of space on the streets in the immediate vicinity. The food was very good and the portions are huge. Four of us... More
