Huge portion, reasonable price

The portion they serve here is gigantic. Service is okay. Free water. Food is too sweet to my taste. Otherwise nicely done.

We were really looking forward to our first dining experience at White Elephant and we're hoping this would be first of many! However, we were quite underwhelmed with the food.. We ordered tom yum chicken soup, chicken fried rice and fried chicken with cashew nuts. The food was jut ok. While the soup was good it wasn't anything to write... More

The food is good, behaviour of the owner is not. Actually, he was pretty rude. He wanted to return my money back because I asked if he could change one item of the order. Also, he only accepts cash, no cards. Will never go there again

Definitely not the best Thai in Calgary (Thai Bistro is still the best and Thai Fusion Delight also recommended). Portions were large, but food was lacking flavour and meal was expensive compared to other Calgary Thai resto. Papaya salad had hardly any flavour - just a large portion of shredded papaya. Garlic and pepper chicken had hardly any sauce and... More

I lived in Thailand for 7 years and have eaten lots of outstanding Thai food. The food here was not that good. Flavours were out of balance. Presentation was not artful. I had a terribly bland Tom Ka and a yellow curry that was flat and monochromatic in its flavour. The people working there were very nice. The restaurant is... More

This place is tucked away in a hotel just off 16th Ave and Deerfoot Trail and is simple yet the best Thai food in Calgary. The owner Khun "James" and his wife run a great operation here with friendly Thai waiting staff and excellent dishes. This is the only place I found in Calgary that serves Khao Soi (chicken curry... We looked on trip advisor for the best restaurant near our hotel as we were looking for good food as we pass through Calgary. Wow if you get past the location and the odd entrance at the inn and get to the restaurant down the hall you are in for a treat. For a person that has lived in Thailand... More

The prices are inline with other Thai places but the portions are simply utterly massive! The curry is soooo good you will want more rice to soak everything up. Curries are a bit westernized so don't be afraid to ask for higher spice levels and for them to chill on sweetness in the curry sauce. They will adjust to taste.... More

We were looking for somewhere fairly cheap but not fast food. Located in the back of a run down hotel we weren't sure what to expect but it ended up being a great experience. Service was good and food was unreal, portions generous. Atmosphere was kind of dive-y but in a way that added to the experience for me (not... More

The food was quite good, though the location and atmosphere are not. It's hard to find the restaurant in the back of an old motel unless you know where it is. Arrived by 5 p.m. to avoid line-ups. I did enjoy the deep fried fish with garlic sauce and the coconut rice.
