Surprisingly good

After a drive through spectacular scenery we had a very good dinner - well-prepared from an interesting menu, good wine selection and very pleasant service. Views are worth the distance.

We stayed for two nights. The most amazing lakeside location. It gets very busy and the road was closed both days that we were there. You need to go the front of the queue and tell them you are staying at the Lodge. The Lodges are small but reasonably equipped. It is isolated so the only dining option is in... More

If you're staying at the Moraine Lake Lodge, the restaurant offers complimentary breakfast. If you aren't staying at the lodge you can't have breakfast there. The dining room isn't open for lunch (though there are snacks purchasable from the gift shop area -- likely better to bring your own picnic basket instead of buying their fairly pricey snack food for... While not a high end eating place (not the main dining room) it had some good food after a long hike. We got a veggie somosa and veggie cheese roll and thoroughly enjoyed them while eating on the porch. Of course, after a long hike even average food tastes pretty darn good.

I am not sure if there is a new chef here or not, because the last reviews were done in 2014, but this place (2015) is out of this world (at least for dinner). We had a 3 course meal and every course was superior. What made it great was the visual presentation and then the quality and taste of... More

We got up very early to beat the crowds, have breakfast at the Lodge, and hike along the lake. Despite a prominent “Visitors Welcome” sign, we were coldly and abruptly turned away upon arriving in the lodge at 7:30 a.m. It seemed unlikely that the dining room was filled, but the clerk wouldn’t check, and simply repeated that it was... Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and the options are either to dine in-house or travel the 12k to Lake Louise. Having reviewed the menu and previous comments on Tripadvisor we decided to dine in the hotel. Reservations are essential as the restaurant is not that large plus it attracts outside guests/diners as well. Seated promptly on arrival and... More

We were staying in the hotel and didn't want to travel for dinner on our first night so eat in the hotel. The food was very nice, well cooked steak, nice sea food tagitelli and the waitress even offered to cook the pasta without the perno, unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't fully appreciate the location or view which... It is my understanding that every restaurant in The National Parks have to pay a percentage of the bill back to Parks Canada for being able to operate within the park - hence why the cost may be a bit higher than restaurants outside the parks. My family of four truly enjoyed our dinner at the lodge - we order... More

Staying at the lodge, so reserved a table. Took a cocktail in the library prior to being seated by a pleasant young Australian at a perfect lake view table. Our server duly arrived, a young Ontarian lady, who showed great interest in us and our travels. Her menu and wine list knowledge were first class. We started with carpaccio for... More
