Great grilled hamburgers at the Moraine Lake cafe!

We were lucky to get up to the lake before the crowds hit! We were also lucky to be the first ones served hamburgers cooked on the grill on the patio of the cafe! They were tasty and such a great treat after eating packaged sandwiches for the past few days! They also were a bargain at $12.00 for... read more

We got to Moraine lake early (day visitor) to avoid the nightmare of parking. After walking to the Rockpile we decided to breakfast at the lodge prior to walking in the area. The restaurant is log cabin cosy with a roaring fire but windows around to enjoy the view. Between us we ate fruit, bacon, sausage, pancakes, granola/yoghurt, muffin and... More

We stayed two nights in the main lodge with a great view of Moraine Lake. We loved the lake, the hiking trails, and the food in the main dining room. It was unseasonably cool when we were there so we made good use of the fireplace in the room. The staff had already laid out the fire and opened the... More

The restaurant itself is very elegant. It has a front view of the lake and mountain. The waiters were very nice to us..and took great care of us. The food was excellent and very very fresh. It's a kind of pricy restaurant but by going there you'll see that it's worth the pain

There are two places to eat at the Moraine Lake Lodge. We had lunch at the Snowshoe Cafe. There is also the Walter Wilcox Dining Room, which is an upscale restaurant that wasn't open for lunch. The Cafe has most items packaged to go. You can take the food with you to a picnic spot along the lake or eat... More

We stayed for two nights. The most amazing lakeside location. It gets very busy and the road was closed both days that we were there. You need to go the front of the queue and tell them you are staying at the Lodge. The Lodges are small but reasonably equipped. It is isolated so the only dining option is in... More

If you're staying at the Moraine Lake Lodge, the restaurant offers complimentary breakfast. If you aren't staying at the lodge you can't have breakfast there. The dining room isn't open for lunch (though there are snacks purchasable from the gift shop area -- likely better to bring your own picnic basket instead of buying their fairly pricey snack food for... While not a high end eating place (not the main dining room) it had some good food after a long hike. We got a veggie somosa and veggie cheese roll and thoroughly enjoyed them while eating on the porch. Of course, after a long hike even average food tastes pretty darn good.

I am not sure if there is a new chef here or not, because the last reviews were done in 2014, but this place (2015) is out of this world (at least for dinner). We had a 3 course meal and every course was superior. What made it great was the visual presentation and then the quality and taste of... More

We got up very early to beat the crowds, have breakfast at the Lodge, and hike along the lake. Despite a prominent “Visitors Welcome” sign, we were coldly and abruptly turned away upon arriving in the lodge at 7:30 a.m. It seemed unlikely that the dining room was filled, but the clerk wouldn’t check, and simply repeated that it was...
