End of the season 2013 . . . guessing everyone was tired and ready to close? STRONG smell of methane gas was of concern. Beautiful views, nice location.
Ate here in Sept 13 on a very cold and rainy evenning. Had not booked but were welcomed warmly and quickly seated near a window with a lovely view. Started with nice glass of Pinot Noir ($12 a glass) and ordered the Boar chop with vegetables and Vegetable Risotto - both meals were pleasant but nothing special. At $35 each... More
The service was excellent, and the food was very well prepared and presented. I had the scallops as a starter with the rack of venison as the main course. I thoroughly enjoyed both. This is a restaurant I will return to.
My wife and I walked into the Moraine Lake Lodge with no reservations and were very fortunate to find an open table. The bread service was accompanied by three types of butter and cheese spreads which were all delicious. For a starter, we got the cream of asparagus soup which was also great. But the main course of halibut with... More
We stayed at the lodge three nights, and ate here twice. Like the lodge, the meals are expensive, but worth it. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and attentive. The food is perfectly cooked and the portions are just right. The baby veggies that accompany the main course are exceptionally good: 3-inch zuchinis are the way to go! We had halibut and... More
Lovely wooden cabins set among the trees alongside the lake. Huge bed and open fire in the room which makes for a cosy evening. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and a pretty balcony to sit on. This was our luxury stay in a long trip to canada and the price includes breakfast, nature and history talks, Joel was... More

Moraine Lake is just an amazing place and the lodge compliments the lake and completes the experience. The Lodge itself is rustic in appearance, the way a lodge should be, with the interior... More
The portions were great as they were both high in quality and quantity. In addition to an excellent dinner the view was beautiful. To top off the dinner the desserts were very delicious and homemade. Overall the food and service was great. Highly recommmended.
While the food was inconsistent, what really made this disappointing was that the service was no better than at a chain Applebees restaurant. We ordered our cocktails, and what got served was a first for me - a warm martini, I had to ask for ice. It was nothing more than a shot of gin in a glass. Fortunately, my... More
