This was my second time at the Bison and it was even better than I remembered! Great atmosphere, staff who know what they're doing, beautiful view, gorgeous patio, excellent wine selection and mouth watering food!

We happened to be in Banff on our anniversary and asked about a special place to celebrate that had good food, didn’t require dressing up and wouldn’t break the bank. The Bison was the top recommendation, and I’m happy to say it was an excellent choice. Our table was right next to one of the several windows, affording us a... More

We live an hour away from Banff, and every time we visit Banff, we make sure to eat here. Ok, it's not cheap - but MAN the food is good! If you don't want to spend a ton, visit the Bison for breakfast - their eggs benny are to die for, as well as their bean, potato and egg skillet.... More

The place is a typical bistro, could be pleasant in daylight, but not so in the evening ... the lights are  dimmed, and noise is oppressive. What's so special about darken restaurants? Do you drink more, or one is not supposed to see the served food?  Amongst four of us, we had  eight eight different appetizers and main courses. At best,... More

Visited here in September 2012. The setting is lovely, a fine dining experience, in banff. The food was excellent, the bison burger being a highlight. Food was also very reasonably priced for the quality.

We found the Bison Restaurant to meet and exceed our expectations during our trip. After eating at a couple of other like-priced places for dinner during our stay we felt that the Bison hit the mark on all points. Interesting menu, great ambience, extensive wine list and wonderful tasting food. Like most fancy food places in Banff the beauty is... More

We ate dinner here on our 2nd night in Banff. I don't eat meat, unlike my husband and sister-in-law. My salad was fine, the server quite professional.

Great food, attentive and friendly service, excellent Bloody Cesar, what else you can ask for? It was our second visit to this great restaurant in 7 months and everything was even better that first time despite th4 very busy long weekend. Order their Bloody Cesar and any of the bison dishes.

The title pretty much says it all. It took us 1.5 hours to have dinner there. We both had the bison shortribs which were small, bland, and basically a bowl of grease. We stopped on the way home to get more food because we were still hungry. The tab with 2 drinks each was $122. Looks like others have had... More

First time in Banff. I was recommended by the locals and on this website. Excellent choice on the menu. Food was great. Service excellent, especially our server Sue. A little pricey, but well worth the food and experience. A must!
