Great Dinner!

We had dinner at The Bison in Banff, Alberta this evening. The restaurant is lovely, the service was excellent as was the food. The restaurant has an extensive wine and beer list. The menu is interesting and offers some very interesting dishes, including escargot served in a bone! We were very... read more

Nothing bad to say about this place. Little patio out back. It seemed like it was mostly local people. Food was good. Would not have gone if not for the short night stopover in Banff. If you did not have an overnight there It would not be my first choice. We were satisfied and happy campers.

Best meal we had in Banff! Atmosphere was great and the food was unbeatable. Gnocchi, trout, venison, even the rolls were unforgettable. Our waitress was also top notch: very knowledgable and helpful. Overall, best restaurant experience we have had on our trip! Do yourself a favor and order the Gnocchi.

Bison is amazing. The food is absolutely out of this world and reminds me all those fancy dishes you see on the cooking shows. I can't pick a favorite dish because everything was so good. We had to come here twice during our 3 day visit... and we typically never do that in order to try other places... but Bison... More

I had to go in alonsg al long wall to find some one, any one to seat us. no one came to the door where a lot of people were waiting to be seated. I don't like to beg for a seat to eat pizza. so pizza is pizza and some can make it and some can't, The pizza here... More

I will always come back to the Bison Restaurant. Delicious food sourced nearby when possible and creative chefs are what set the place apart. Not only is it my favorite in Banff, it would be in my top 20 list worldwide. Great food, good prices, and very nice staff earn five stars.

On a recent ski trip to Banff, we stopped in for a light dinner at the The Bison Restaurant. The restaurant is located in the historic district of Downtown Banff. There are two places to have dinner the upstairs restaurant is more formal and pricier, and the downstairs tavern which is more casual. We chose the tavern and had ordered... More

We had our hearts set on The Maple Leaf for dinner during the Easter weekend but alas we waited too long to book so we had to look elsewhere. Happy to discover The Bison has the same owners and same commitment to tasty food and excellent wine. We tried the signature dishes other diners have raved about and were not... More

I had the pork, It was difficult to cut up from the massive chunk and not as flavorful as I would like. the escargot and bone marrow was good. the Sangria was full of pulped berries and difficult to drink the last 1/3. The ambiance was great

First of all, I have to say that this restaurant has both an upper and a lower restaurant. The upper is a fine dinning restaurant called the Bison and the lower is a pizza and beer place called the Bear Street Tavern. Many people here are making the mistake that they are the same restaurant. We tried them both. The... More
