Frankly, this was the highlight of anything offered by the Fairmont. Every single item was delicious, and was executed the way you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. My favorite was the warmed berry compote which I ate over the light pancakes and the very good banana bread french toast. The omlets were well made, and all the... More

I can't say enough about the service I received from Laura and the chef. I'd had food poisoning that day and had hardly eaten. Nothing on the menu appealed to my nauseous stomach (nothing against the menu--on a normal day I would have eaten just about anything on the menu) so I asked for plain rice or chicken broth. After... Lots of selections to choose from and fantastic service. Every selection on the buffet was very appealing to the eye and pallet.

There were a lot of choices that would satisfy everyone from those who are very health conscious to those who like all American style breakfasts.

We loved the food and the venue but our server was obviously just going through the motions. Banff is an amazing hotel but both the restaurants we ate at did not live up to the CLASS of the establishment. Its only a short cab ride into town.

The Grill was one of several restaurants on site to consider. I am sure that we would have enjoyed any of the other venues but we thoroughly enjoyed the Grill ---- starting with Jeff our server, followed by the delicious appetizer, main dish and dessert. Did I forget to mention the extensive wine list and the in house cocktails.. All... More

The breakfast buffet had a large assortment of goodies. We had an awesome waitress Alison. Even though the restaurant was packed she didn't make us feel rushed and kept pouring the coffee.

Be sure to ask for a table with a view near the window to see the spectacular views. The Duck Confit appetizer was very good and the lemon meringue dessert was outstanding. The halibut entree was a bit bland as was the vegetarian pasta. The service was very slow and the waiter was inattentive.

Breakfast large, expansive and expensive. Dinner very good and well presented. Our server was very helpful and went beyond the call of duty when I wanted a chocolate desert, sourcing one from one of the other restaurants.

My wife and I dined here for lunch on a Saturday (4 Apr 2014) near the end of our great trip to Alberta and British Columbia. We thoroughly enjoyed the tremendous variety of salads, breads, lean meats, vegetables, fruits and desserts on glorious display at this bountiful buffet. The venison stew was among the best that I have ever eaten.... More
