The food was flavorful, although not spicy enough to be authentic. It was a welcome change from the pubs and burger joints in Banff. The service, though, was very slow. We sat at our table for around 30 minutes after our meal, first waiting for a waiter to come by for us to flag down, then waiting for our bills... More

We've been eating at Indian Restaurants (usually the Buffet) around the world for 30 years. It is one of our top 4 culinary choices for eating out. 6 months ago, we were in India for an entire month. So we have a good understanding of quality Indian food/ dining. Masala is a poor restaurant, at least for the buffet. Please,... More

Had dinner here with a friend on the recommendation of a local. We love Indian food so we couldn't wait to try it. The food was great. We started with vegetable samosas and they were the best I ever had. Our entrees included the butter chicken and chicken Vindaloo. Both were tasty and spiced just right. The naan was exceptional... An extensive buffet was an immediate cooling effect to the eyes ~ "HOT FOOD". Right in the middle of a shopping centre, this restaurant was very convenient, though an only Indian in town. Fantastic taste of food.

The food was so good I didn't want my meal to end. Large portions, huge authentic selection with levels of spice and very very tasty. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. The place is on the smaller side but atmosphere was cozy. I will definitely return.

My wife and I enjoy Indian cuisine and have visited many Indian restaurants. We were in Banff at the time of our wedding anniversary so decided to celebrate at Masala. It was outstanding. We hadn't made a reservation (Monday evening in early June didn't seem like it would be a problem) but on arrival we were told that they just... More

Went for Buffet lunch. Returning from Cave & Basin, we were running rather late, and phoned in at the restaurant, requesting for adjusting our family for the buffet lunch. We were accommodated despite being little over time, and then on top of the buffet, we ordered couple of additional preparations which were served without any hassles. Great authentic East Indian... Looking for this you find it on Google, but not on Garmin. Shame on Garmin. Excellent lamb Rogan Josh. As a side note, they handled an Indian sub-continent tour group of maybe 40 in a separate part of the dining room, without disturbing the normal walk-ins like us. Impressively done. It cramped the serving staff, but not to any inconvenience... More
