I went for the lunch box special. The sushi was the freshest in town, the value was great and our waitress was very sweet. Will go here again!

We've been there for lunch so many times and never been disappointed with the food and the service.
My favorite items are tempura (not oily at all), teriyaki chicken (super good!), ginger pork, and California roll (to die for!). We really, really love the California roll here, the best one we've had so far.
For a lunch special combination set,...

We have been here in the past and it was alright. However, the last time we went, it was awful. The portions are tiny, and over-priced. $18 sashimi was piled in a mess on the plate, with 4 small pieces, and 3 even smaller ones. When we asked the server if it normally came like that, she said yes. Poorly...

Suginoya has the best Japanese food I have ever had. Nice place, great food, very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent menu and a very good variety of tasty bits. Located right on Banff Ave and a supper place to have dinner for two or even better a group. Very reasonably priced
If you want a good japanese meal for a decent price, go here for lunch. The service was average with the servers seeming to mind their own business but the food is worth it. If you do go here for lunch, aim for a later lunch after 12:30 as we were bombarded with noisy high school kids for the first...

Came here for sunday lunch. The restraurant was close to my hotel, i sat at the sushi bar. I am a big japanese fanatic. Ordered the nami sushi platter which was 7 pieces of sashimi/ nigiri and a california roll, so i could have some variety, this was served with a small salad with vinegar dressing and miso soup $17....

In the weeks we spend in Banff we always look forward to eating at Suginoya. At one time there were several Japanese restaurants in the center of town, but now it seems to be the only one left. Eating out night after night for a week, one always gets overdosed with rich food - salt, sugar, oil. Only Japanese food...

We got a takeaway where the price was the same as eating in. Service was friendly. The gyoza were lovely. The sushi was ok, nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the noodle dish which only had one very thin slice of pork in it and the rest was just noodles and broth. If I had been in the restaurant I...

This restaurant is tucked away in the second floor on the main drag of Banff. We had 2 kids (with a stroller) - note - we couldn't find an elevator - so we had to carry everything up the flight of steep stairs. The restaurant looks plain and simple - dated decor---but we came for dinner with the family not...

Stopped in for lunch after the Gran Fondo on a friends recommendation, and we were pleasantly surprised at the huge variety of Japanese food offered. Might I add that it is encouraging to hear the chefs and waiters speak in Japanese - it reassures that they know how to make the food properly. Great unagi
