Have eaten at this Irish pub a few times and have consistently enjoyed the music and meals. The meat pies stay hot; the burgers are tasty and fish and chips are not bad. All in all, we have had good times here and are likely to return.

We met friends here one evening in Banff. They had an excellent wine selection, as well as plenty of beers on tap and a full bar. They served the ultimate comfort food, but the portions were reasonable sizes so we couldn't all overeat and go into a food coma. I had the chicken pot pie, and it was marvelous; my... More

First night on our touring holiday and after a long flight then the drive from Calgary Airport, we wanted to go to one of our favourite watering holes - we've been here many times in the past in the winter when in Banff for the Skiing but never in Summer. We wondered if it would be very busy as Banff... More

We had reservations at Wild Bill's for dinner, but ran a few minutes late. When we arrived, there was an event going on, and at 10:30 pm, the doorman wanted to charge each person in our party of 10 a $5 cover to have dinner! He simply said: "You are late, so we 'lost' your reservation." We all found that... More

My family of five had one meal here while in Banff. We all enjoyed it. We went on a Tuesday evening and they offer a number of two for one appetizers. We tried the barbequed wings and nachos and they were great. Our meals were ribs, two shepherd's pies, and a chicken pot pie. All meals were yummy and the... More

We came here for some drinks one evening. Service OK, pretty good atmosphere, OK live singer. There appeared to be some 'dodgy dealings' going on in the toilets which was somewhat worrying! Not helped by a local coming over and asking if we were cocaine dealers! All in all not a great atmosphere felt here!

My wife and I recently popped into the St. James Gate Pub for lunch and were pleased with the whole experience. The stew was delicious. The Guinness was pulled proper and the service was prompt and friendly. The bar inside is really quite impressive. Great choice in Banff

Restaurant attractive with good selection of Irish meals, service was very good, prices moderate for the area, would highly recommend . I ordered Shepard Pie which was served quickly and was very tasty, and enjoyed one of their lite draft beers.

St James Gate Irish Pub gives a little taste of Ireland in Banff. Food was sort of Irish--the Irish Club Sandwich was a tradition club with chicken and the Irish burger was a lamb burger--but the Guinness was tasty and poured correctly. The decor is typical Irish and there's probably a story about it being brought piece by piece from... More

We stopped in for dinner, sat at the bar. I ordered the fish and chips which were better than average. Service was prompt and courteous with some good suggestions on what to order etc. overall a nice dinner, in a nice atmosphere. If I had a complaint I'd say the beer and alcohol were overpriced but that might just be... More
