Come in and have a beer

Nice Irish bar in Downtown Banff. Lots of nice beer on draught. Friendly and fast Service. Customers where "all" ages. Nice atmosphere. Happy Place.

Lovely quality and selection. Great staff and service. Good prices. The steak salad is my favourite, Hearty salad with grilled veggies & macadamia nuts. Check out their specials

Beautiful interior, but it smelled. Like urine. I don't know if I went on a bad day or if it always stinks, but it ruined the experience for me. The restaurant was highly recommended and you don't notice the smell after a couple of drinks but...it needed a deep clean. The food was good. The food was pretty good.

We loved St James Gate. The food was excellent (highly recommend the Steak and Guinness Pie and the Crispy O'Brien) and they have a nice selection of craft beer. It was fun to try Canadian beer that I haven't seen in the States. Service was good. Waitstaff was friendly. Bonus - they served food after 10 pm. It seemed most... More

We stopped in for a drink - beer and cider. The beer that was suggested was a bit too hoppy for us and the cider, though on draft, was weak. However the feel of the pub was nice and we enjoyed watching NASCAR. Also the service was good.

No options here except for a couple of obvious things on the menu with GF circled. Really acted as if they did not care. Place was crowded and noisy; but it definitely had pub atmosphere. Poorly poured Guinness but it tasted okay. I would avoid this place except for a mid-afternoon beer.

Enjoyed an excellent dinner experience at St James Gate. Had that Irish Pub atmosphere. Great Food and Drink. Very good selection of beer. Irish musician singing and playing guitar was a special touch. Good for conversation with friends. Highly recommend it.

Stopped in here for a breather. We each only had a beer, but were made to feel welcome. Service was perfect. The waitress wasn't TOO attentive, but stopped by frequently enough to check in on us. We were there at a slow time of day, around 3:00. I would go back to try the good. Great ambience. Friendly service. Refreshing... More

This place is the perfect choice after a busy day of sightseeing. We had the "yorkies" appetizer. These are mini Yorkshire puddings filled with chopped roast beef and horseradish cream. Absolutely wonderful! I had the fish and chips. It was a thick slab of fish cooked perfectly. My husband had the steak pie. The food is great. The price for... More

This was my husband's favorite restaurant and meal on our recent trip to Banff. The restaurant is a classic Irish Pub with a great menu and staff.
