The cheese fondue was delicious but the best part of my meal was the Alberta meat: beef, bison, elk and venison. I got to cook them myself on a 600 degree hot rock. The atmosphere and ambience is perfectly suited to your surroundings. It's like dining in a rustic mountain lodge. The only bad thing was that our clothes stunk... more

We had reservations here this past Saturday for our anniversary dinner however, we didn't end up staying so I can't review the food itself . All I can say is that we didn't stay because it was not at all what we expected - we had dressed up for something initimate and romantic, however we were seated at a small... more

2 people, did the main fondue deal: 50 bucks each, 140 bucks including tip starter was french onion soup - ok then a small cheese fondue. nice instead of an oil fondue for meat, we chose the hot rock basically a hot piece of rock, you put butter on it to help cook your food we had 1 order of... more

We went here around Christmas time and ordered the bread & cheese and the beef fondue. We got calls from tables who were having their Christmas parties at this restaurant. They were all drunk and doing all sorts of surveys. We were just having a romantic evening but answered most of their surveys. They sent over drinks to thank us... more

Our first time in Banff, we didn't know were to go or what to do, but the smell coming from The Grizzly House drove us in!! It is more pricey than you average meal, but it was totally worth it for a treat We had the white wine fondue for two and we barely finish it!! Later we indulge sharing... more

My husband and I went to the Grizzly House 1 year ago and it was wonderful - great server - great food and wine. I got the cheese, lobster and steak fondue and my husband the exotic hot rock. We went for an early supper on a Thursday evening. It was everything I expected. While the price is a bit... more

We went Monday 16th march on an unplanned visit. Ambiance was good and service superb but very expensive for what you get. We ordered the Beef, Buffalo, Elk and Venison hot rock, cook yourself dish @ 44.95 per person. Good dips but the meat although adequate for a small person left me hungry. Cheapest bottle of house wine at 44.95... more

What a different way to enjoy food. This was my first experience at a fondue restaurant. My wife and I decided to try their combination meal (included soup or salad, cheese or veggie fondue, meat fondue, and a chocolate fondue). This sounds like a lot of food but I left comfortably full. The place was pretty smoky based on the... more

I am a local Banffite and thought I'd share my thoughts of a few of my favorite restaurants in town. The Grizzly House is high on my list. I'd go there more often but it can be a pricey night out. The restaurant itself has a quirky decor, kind of what I envision a restaurant in a ski chalet in... more
