Just OK

We went to Bumpers because we heard it was a Banff Institution. Evidently it used to be a freestanding restaurant and now is part of the Rundlestone Lodge. Cooked in a very special way, very tasty, great service. The salad bar is very generous, too many good things to eat. Thanks for such a good address.

Not really sure what relation is to the former restaurant of the same name is? if nothing else but to capitalize on the good name many had become accustomed to for over thirty years. But we were certainly looking forward to having that classic Bumpers experience. The ambiance and decor is certainly an improvement, the view not quite the same... More

"If you haven't been to Bumpers you haven't been to Banff." We ate many times at the old Bumpers and enjoyed watching the wildlife in the woods. The new location is in The Rundlestone Lodge Hotel and the only wildlife is the next door playground. The salad bar had almost everything I wanted including sauerkraut. I didn't see pickled beets... Finally got my Alberta beef! We were staying here and decided to try it. Surprised we needed a reservation even though staying there, so had to wait an hour as there were several large groups. Service was fair, but the food was good. Husband had to send back once, even though he likes rare, it was rare/rare.

Given the other reviews, we were anxious to dine here. The prime rib was okay, but the thick layer of sauce on the prime rib bones overwhelmed any flavor in the meat. Unfortunately, poor service led to a poor dining experience. After taking our order, the waiter never mentioned to us about the unlimited salad bar, so we sat at... More

You have to visit here if you're in Banff. The 'prime rib' was absolutely delicious. We found it very reasonable and the salad bar was great.

Our family has had a tradition of going to Bumpers every time we visit Banff, but as of our last visit, the tradition is finished. The "new" Bumpers in the Rundlestone Hotel is nowhere even close to the original Bumpers which was in its stand-alone location further up the street. The service was terribly slow, the salad bar had only... More

Unfortunately for us, they sold out of prime rib. We reluctantly ordered other entrees. I ordered the Alberta beef. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had. It was really nice that the meal came with unlimited trips to their salad bar. The kids enjoyed their meals, especially the Shirley Temple. My husband ordered the stew and... More
