Read reviews and had to try it. Had the cinnamon sugar tail. Would have liked a smaller version since I found it too big to eat the whole thing. Taste good warm but when I tried to finish the rest later after it cooled it had a very strong greasy taste.

Beaver Tails offers a variety of treats for dessert lovers: beaver tails (kind of like flat, crispy fried dough with your choice of toppings, including Nutella, cinnamon sugar [my favorite], etc.), gelato on fun flavors like mango and passion fruit, and donut-gelato sundaes, among others. You can also get poutine here (fries with cheese and other savory toppings). There are... More

We stop here every time we go through banff (1-2x yearly) for a treat but this place is too expensive for what you get. If you want to charge me that much for a pastry you should at least load it up with the good stuff on top. They are stingy with the toppings big time. And just nonchalant teenagers... More

My family of five sampled a few Beaver Tails while we were in Banff for a few days. They were delicious! We enjoyed the Cinnamon Sugar and the Apple and Cin. Sugar toppings. Gotta try them!

So glad this Ottawa Classic made it out west. Classic with cinnamon and sugar and lemon was great, so is Nutella. All good, just enjoy.

Oh my goodness, these are so delicious. I read many of the reviews of people who ordered more extensive toppings, but the cinnamon sugar sounded good to me, and the lady behind the counter assured me it is the most popular flavor. The beaver tail is a flat dough that is fried so it is slightly crispy, and then covered... More

You could seriously go broke here. The food is wonderful. We enjoyed our tails so much we had one with breakfest a bit of sugar to jump start the day. So do not miss this place they have two shops in town and they are only in banff.

Service was slow. The pastry was soaked in oil and the price ridiculous. I bought because others have said they were so big and tastey. Skip the hype, they are nothing special. $7 bucks for a flattened doughnut with sprinkles.

I nipped out to purchase one of these for me and one for my partner who was getting ready back at the hotel. We had saw loads of people walking around the town with them an had resisted the urge to lean over and bite one long enough! They cost about $5-7 per tail depending on the topping you decide... More
