Nostalgic Sugar Rush

I've had beaver tails before in Ottawa and other points east. Years ago. So of course I had to try one here for old time's sake. I went with the half and half version with cinnamon and sugar on one side and chocolate and bananas on the other. Hot, sweet, and I don't want to know how many calories... read more

Beaver Tails uniquely Canadian. A must try but very rich. Great place for an ice cream. The Hot Dogs are excellent too. Now 2 shops and they are both always busy.

So people are worried about diabetes, get over it. I went in each evening during our ten day stay in Banff for coffee which was very good. I finally decided to get a Beavertail out of curiosity as we have never heard of this in Australia. It is a great sugar hit and definitely for the diabetics. Yep if you... More

Had a hot dog. It was very tasty. Wrong condiments were put on the hot dog, but our hot dogs were promptly remade. The poutine looked really good, but the customers seemed to have to wait a long time for it.

Wonderful food and service more outlets need to be across Canada and the USA. I have only seen 2 other outlets and we want more Beaver Tail stores.

6th best restaurant in Banff?? I don't think so ...for a one off novelty, yeah ok. Massively over sweet and slickly, just not to my taste. Service and general experience, no issues with.

This is a must have treat daily on visits to Banff. I get sugar with a squeeze of fresh lemon, while the kids like theirs fruity or chocolately. This deep fried pastry is inexpensive, tasty and goes great with a cup of coffee.

I was walking downtown in Banff and saw a guy eating a "beaver tail". I was wondering what it was, it looked delicious. Once I came across the store, I had to go in. There at many options/flavours and mine was the hazelnut and chocolate. It's basically a deep fried pastry. I believe I spent $6.50 Canadian for mine and... More

My English better half loves this place. She always gets the sugar and lemon one and I always go for the über-sweet maple/caramel/nutty one that they have. Great stuff!
