Ramen in Banff

A good place for a quick lunch or dinner. We came for dinner on a weeknight, and there were a few other tables already eating, but about half were still open. We were politely greeted and the lady explained how we order (sit down, order at counter and pay at the same time). We had the gyoza... read more

this is good if you are watching your budget but don't expect authentic ramen. I am use to ramen with a nice milky soup base. This was more a tasteless ramen so was not worth drinking. I would go back here to try more on the menu but only expect it to be a tummy filler and not a tasty... More

The chicken udon was excellent, but the ramen was just slightly off. The edamame were coated in salt (burnt my mouth!). I didn't have super high expectations going in as I'm from the lower mainlaind and the Asian restaurants here are top notch. What saved it was the udon. It was done really well!

I have eaten here a handful of times, and gotten take out a lot after longs days at the hill. The Spicy Tan Tan Ramen is excellent, is usually get it with extra noodles and at least 4 or 5 wontons added, because I am a gluttonous monster pig, and just can't help myself... I go Beastmode on the bowl,... More

I was pleasantly surprised to find a Japanese restaurant in Banff that is pretty authentic, The food was reasonably priced and super tastly. They have a variety of udon, ramen, don buri, and minimal sushi. It's a tiny restaurant, so better eat fast and go.

My wife and I were craving for ramen and spotted this little Japanese restaurant and the food was amazing. The Tan Tan Ramen was perfect for a cold winter night. It's tasty and just the right level of heat. Their rice toppings is also worth trying.

It is an authentic tiny little restaurant which offers some good Japanese dishes. We have been there for lunch with a bit of waiting time and would come back!

I lived in Banff from 2010 to 2012 and ate here regularly. Initially I had the delicious udon meals until I discovered Katsu Don (pork with rice). I have recently moved back to the area and again are enjoying their Katsu Don. The only changes I've seen in the last few years is the price. It's gone up slightly. Still... More

The soup noodle was great and very similar to the noodle I try it out from Japan on last year trip. Inside the noodle place was small and very busy. You need either arrive early or reserve the table. The price was reasonable.

Is Chaya runs by Japanese? I never thought Japanese can give you such a bad service. This is my first time there and when I get in the restaurant, I saw empty seats, so I just unload my backpack and go to cashier to try to buy noodles. There comes the trouble, the looks like Japanese waitress came to us... More
