Description: New village 'local' to open. A new pub is set to open in the village centre, just a year after community campaigners failed to save the Forest Heath Hotel. The Silver Hind is the result of a major conversion project led by incoming proprietors Andy and Carol Cottingham, who bought the building in October. This 6 mouth old restaurant will be not only hosting a newly installed bar serving local ales but two fantastic menus running along side each other created by Head Chef and his brigade.! We also cater for any special occasions and run special menus, for all enquiries please call, email or come and see us!

We were a party of 5 and made a reservation for a meal in the evening. On arrival we were shown to our table around the corner from the bar. The Bar area was somewhat noisy but it is a pub. We all had starters and main courses and a bottle of house wine together with a round of pre... More

Maybe I am missing something, but I really wasn't impressed with this pub, and only visited it because of the good reviews on Trip Advisor. The location is the first let down, from the outside it looks like a house that has been converted into a pub, nestled in between other houses and offers no charm. Inside is like a... More

We visited after a nice 60km new forest cycle. Nice selection of ales at the bar. Staff very friendly and service speedy. Food is EXCELLENT ! Two courses for £17.95 on a Sunday for lunch. We had the pork and it was delicious. Tenderly cooked and the yummy al dente vegetables and gravy - compliments to the chef(s). We very... More

Where to start with this place. Location wise, its set in the lovely village of sway in the new Forrest nestled away among the trees, really quiet friendly little village but with loads of character. We where staying at rushcroft farm caravan site which is just a short from the restaurant so no need to drive which was handy because... More

Went as a group of 6 adults. Had high hopes but sadly left lacking in a few areas. Claims of fresh homemade bread got us quite excited only to be served onion and cheese bread that was more of a brioche texture and lacking any real taste, none of us liked it, not a good start. Unfortunately the mains were... More

Food is of a high standard and very tasty with plenty of choice. Also good range of freshly cooked food for children. Service was a bit slow due to its popularity.

We read the reviews on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed. Booked first which we recommend. Staff friendly, helpful and service good. Menu varied and the food well cooked by Ben & Marek. Bread offered as we waited, yummy, had enough butter, should have asked for more of the home made bread to go with it. Food well presented, good main... More

Found this on Trip Advisor and emailed to check they allowed dogs, got a very prompt response to say yes and that they provided odd biscuits and water. We had a lovely day in Lepe and then called the Silver Hind to check if we should book, we did and were delighted we could be accommodated. True to their word... More

We hadn't booked a table and arrived on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant was very busy and we were told we may not be able to get a table, So we decided to have a drink as the place was lovely and very welcoming. After just 15 minutes we were shown to our table and couldn't ask for friendlier... More
