We have heard lots of good reports about the Pointers and it's a really clean welcoming pub. There were 8 of us at the table and lunch was served 2 by 2 followed by delivery of the vegetables and finally the condiments. All by the same waitress. The whole process took way to long. It was busy and the food... More

Have eaten at the Pointer on 3 occasions recently and all I can say is WOW. The staff are exceptionally friendly and really helpful. A must is the signature "pie" which was superb. Would also recommend the Sunday lunches too. We had a large dog with us and the outside spaces were great for short walks after a large lunch.... More

Firstly arrived to find table not ready???? Owner extremely abrupt and to further quench your appetite cold eggs! I'd give this a miss.

Dear Hollibobgal, Thank you for taking the time to review our business. However I would simply like to add a few facts to your brief review. We are sorry for your bad experience. We aim to please at all times, and your review is very disappointing. You arrived at our busy little pub at 7:20pm, for your 7:30 booking. It... More

Fantastic pub food and a real country pub feel to it. Staff are excellent and very helpful. They even let us pre order our food as we were going to be arriving later than the kitchen was open. Portion sizes are very big and the service is speedy. Recommend the Newfound Pie and the Roast Pork Belly. Isle of Wight... More

Went here whilst on holiday with friends. The food was amazing, looked as good as the pictures in the advertisements. Excellent value and superbly attentive service from our waitress. The house wine was as it should be: very good, and at £13.50 a fair price. Duck cooked to perfection and pavlova is a must. You will need to book if... More

I have eaten at the Pointers many times and cannot fault them on the range, quality, quantity and presentation of the food. Whilst it edges towards the 'gastro-pub' it does so without pretension, and at reasonable prices. Everything is tasty, and in adequate quantities and the welcome and ambience are friendly and inviting. Be warned though - you will need... More

Took our young children for early evening meal whilst staying nearby. Very welcoming, cheerful & helpful staff, good atmosphere. Reasonably varied menu, lots of traditional pub food, but done really well, as well as other options. They do serve quite large portions. I particularly liked the Light Bite option, where you can have smaller portions of various dishes . Good... More

The Pointer Inn just gets better and better. On a recent visit, we had beautiful food in a great atmosphere served and cooked by lovely people. Booking in advance would be recommend as it is so popular. There is an outside garden area where you can eat undercover and enjoy your food on warm days or nights. Would recommend this... More
