A well balanced kitchen...

The classic spot of village life, alongside the delicious Itchen River, and this old place keeps delivering after many years. Well done team Bush, for not over gilding the lily, as the food on offer is still good, neither a pretentious assumption, nor basic slop, the Kitchen deserve a medal for... read more

Stopped off for lunch here, delicious roast with plenty of perfectly cooked veg and Yorkshire pudding. Tasty beer to round off a lovely satisfying meal. Beautiful garden leading to delightful bridge over quietly flowing river. Clean clear water with fish balancing against the flow, lovely walk, swans and ducks. A perfect Sunday afternoon, Thankyou!

My wife and I used to be regular visitors at The Bush when we lived in Hampshire and were so pleased to find that,if anything, it is even better then we remembered when we called in for the first time in over 20 years yesterday for lunch. Both our main course and pudding were superb and the price was very... More

Having been each summer for the past few years to meet friends we were disappointed this year as the place looked run down both inside and out. The staff were friendly and helpful but the food was decidedly average. Unlikely that we will repeat our annual visit.

Wow! What a find. We were in the area, for a Tank Driving experience, and were looking for a lunchtime stop off. We were early, and were lucky enough to be able to sit inside (one of our party is petrified of wasps and bees) despite it being a beautiful sunny day - as most of the tables were already... More

We ate here on a Monday evening, and sat outside in the gorgeous garden. The food was good food and the portions were quite big by any standard. The starters (Cornish sole and goats cheese with poached pear) stole the show for me. Sampled 2 ales which were good. Go for the views and enjoy the food. Great staff -... More

This is one of those places that you don't want everyone to know about! Nestled next to the River Itchen with it's trout, swans and abundance of wildlife this is somewhere you can forget all your troubles and enjoy the peace and tranquility of life! Great for beer lovers with some great wines on offer coupled with the traditional fish... More

This is a lovely pub in a great spot ..we haven't been for a while (we don't live nearby) but my family loved this place..we called it The Bat Pub as there was a taxidermied bat in the corner (my daughter has loved such things from a young age) It was worth the journey to eat the black pudding starter... The Bush Inn is a quaint pub, popular and in a great location. We went there as a family for Sunday lunch following a lovely walk around the Itchen valley. The front of house staff were well trained, polite and helpful, but!.... The food was of a very mixed quality. The roast beef was quite good, as was the lamb,... More
