Much better value for money

We had lunch here with our two daughters and met Sarah Parrish (a local) on the way. The food is now much better value and there is a good selection of beer. The location is idyllic and on a sunny day, the garden is a treat to sit in!

Lovely place found through the Britstops guide for an overnight stay in the carpark in our motorhome. Located next to the river with ample garden seating area and a cozy interior. Dog friendly. Friendly service and good standard of food. Certainly a good place to go for a pleasant lunch or dinner

We have had lunch and dinner here several times as it is now our local. Plus points are the garden eating area, well grassed, plenty of tables, with the staggeringly beautiful River Itchen a short stroll away (worth the trip alone). Inside is comfortable and cosy. Food pretty good for a country pub. Friendly service.

What a perfect stop off for those walking the Itchen Way. Stunning pub garden over looking the river, beautiful traditional interior and good selection of food and drink. Only snacked this time but will be back for a full meal at some point soon.

Been coming here for years and years. Good selection of Wadworth's beers. Enjoyed a pint of Farmer's Glory, available throughout the summer. A good range of food options, from burger and beer-battered fish & chips, to steak and local trout - plus yummy puds and a varied wine selection. All at reasonable prices (it used to be quite pricey here,... More

We've been visiting The Bush over the last few years mainly because the setting and surroundings are totally magical (I'm in two minds about sharing this because I'd hate crowds to spoil it!). The nearby riverside walk along a section of the river Itchen is totally wonderful and to have this beautiful old inn tucked away as it is makes... More

I had a lovely day on a busy Saturday afternoon, sat next to the trickling river with a glass of wine. We had a bush burger which wonderfully and very filling. The staff were attentive , but the best of all was the beautiful setting. This pub is great for winter inside next to the fire and outside in the... More

Visited The Bush on a sunny Saturday lunch time and sitting in the garden was very nice with a well kept beer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Along with a number of other reviews the problem was with the food which received mixed feedback. My own ham egg and chips was ok (not much to go wrong) but... More

Every summer we meet up with a old friend and for the past 3 years have come to this pub. Previously the setting has been beautiful and that is still the case especially when you get the warm sun on your back, both these were luckily the same this time as well. Also in the past the food has been... More
