Meal was delicious. High standard for traditional pub food. The lighting bit bright would be nice with candles and dimmers. Special mention to Boris who knows the menu and drink selection very well and made us feel very welcome. A gentleman. Great pub and lovely setting.

Have been visiting this lovely pub for years and always impressed by the quality of food. However today my salmon with risotto was not much bigger than a starter and the risotto was completely tasteless. My companion's steak was well done instead of rare as asked for, and the management's riposte was that they preferred it that way (probably a... More

We found this little gem by accident , decided to have lunch here , we had ploughmans and prawn sandwiches, lovely fresh food and not too expensive, staff were friendly and service was good, Will visit again, beer garden was packed which i think is always a good sign

Between us we had a wide selection of starters, main and sweet and every one was of excellent quality with substantial portions. When I enquired about the beers I was given sound advice by a man who knew what he was talking about and then enjoyed good, friendly service as we ate our lunch. Superb location. Recommended.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem on a dash to Farnham from the Isle of Wight. We arrived about half eight and we were pleased that food was available to order. The staff were absolutely fantastic and showed us to a table, and given menus, within 5 minutes another member of staff came to take our order. We choose the Sausages... More

We had a lovely table booked in the window this evening. The waiter was very friendly, did not rush us at all and was happy to make recommendations. We had the smoked salmon and chicken pate for starters and the pork special and salmon risotto for mains. The food was lovely, couldn't fault it. The waiting time between courses was... More

We ate dinner here recently, the meal was cooked well and the service was spot on. I do, however think that to serve cheap, thin sliced white toast is unacceptable at a venue of this calibre. The wine was excellent, but the Dessert choice was limited with 'heavy' puddings, so rarely for me I gave them a miss. The lady... More

ideal stop off point when walking the Itchen Valley but £8 for a sandwich made with what appeared to be a Sainsburys 19p value loaf and £10 for a ploughmans with 1/2 a slice of white bread is not what I would call when the pub's own website states - We care about the quality of our food. The quality... More

A party of 10 of us had lunch after a very wet walk today. Despite being late to arrive (just after 2pm) it was not a problem. Drinks were served promptly and the food arrived all at the same time which is often difficult for the kitchen to cope with when a large party place different orders. The service was... More

We arrived for lunch on the day this pub/restaurant was changing hands and didn't know what to expect! The Cod in Wadsworth batter with hand cut chips and peas and the Vegetarian Gnocchi went down really well, as did the service from the Eastern European waiter who was managing to serve both pub and garden with humour and attention to...
