Tip: book in advance as it gets full easily. For us La Bruceliere was a great surprise. Great quality menu, reasonably priced. A real quality restaurant. Service could be a bit slow but given it is in a holiday destination it was no big issue for us. Highly recommended if you are in the area

Issigéac is a quaint village in the southernmost part of the Dordogne, which tourists like to visit. We asked the tourist office for a recommendation for lunch and got the info that "La Brucelière" is the place where the French go, but if we arrive without a reservation, we should be there before 12 a.m. for lunch. So we went... More

My wife, son and his fiancée, and I had a lovely lunch yesterday on the terrace. The veal shanks were meltingly tender; the scallops were perfectly prepared, with the surprising accompaniment of nut encrusted lamb sweetbreads and foie gras. The service was properly attentive and not overbearing. We had a wonderful experience.

The quality of the food is excellent and the presentation imaginative. Our Sunday luncheon was served on the very pleasant terrace. What was lacking (as in so many restaurants) was the quality of service; the staff were not particularly friendly or attentive, which we felt let down the quality of the food they were serving and left the total dining... We've been here several times bit today was the first time in 2014. We had a beautiful table on the terrace. The attention from the owner is still great and the ambience amazing but the reason for my 'very good' is that a) the young waitress just isn't up to it. B) my beef was terribly tough. The wine and... More

I first visited some twenty-five years ago when Madame had the bar and restaurant, standards were kept high and the cuisine never failed to impress. Then the building closed, I fear the worst, and it was sad to see. Two years ago on a visit to the area all was rejuvenated, a lovely welcoming couple for front of house and... More

Consistency is a feature of this restaurant. The food is always very good, and the menus have an interesting selection to tempt you. Ambience is pleasant, service is efficient and professional. Prices are modest. Deservedly very popular for all the right reasons.

We ate here, not for the first time, last Friday, and once again were not disappointed. Good service, lovely food and excellent ambiance. Despite the restaurant being almost full over lunch time, our order was taken and the food served as though we were the only ones that mattered. We noticed that this applied to everyone there. 7 hour cooked... More

My husband and I had lunch here today and were not disappointed. We had read the reviews and spoken to a local who recommended the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and had very good English that helped us through our selection. We were not in a hurry and enjoyed a two hour luncheon. The selection of each of the... More
