We were here for New Years. The food was excellent. The price was a but high, but the service and atmosphere was amazing. If you get a chance to go to Nuevo Vallarta, this is probably the best "beachside" dining.

My wife and I arrived in Nuevo Vallarta from Vancouver on a Friday about 6:30 pm. After unpacking our luggage we took the 15 minute walk to the beach. As we were starving and the 1st place we spotted was Bernardo's., we decided to check it out. It is a very casual looking place right on the beach about 40... More

Walk the beach to the north for about 30 minutes or so. Nice cafe with seafood and cold corona's. Beautiful sunset. Market right next store. Mexican blankets for about $25 can. Buy one. Have the coconut shrimp.

Bernardo's isn't a far walk for us down the beach when we stay in Nuevo and we've always wanted to give it a shot. We ended up going on Thanksgiving so we could eat on the beach and enjoy the ocean. First of all, we were the ONLY people there which isn't a huge surprise considering the all-inclusive resorts surrounding... More

We just returned from Mexico and once again ate at Bernardo's Cafe. We have always enjoyed the food. In the past the service was slow but the food good. This year when we arrived on a Wednesday evening there was no one in the restaurant. The waiter remembered us from previous years and told us the had 3 customers all... More

My wife and I discovered Bernardo's during our visit to NV last year. Last week we returned with our two twenty something children. During this visit we visited Bernardo's twice and even celebrated our last evening in NV there. They greeted us as their family and made us feel very special during the entire evening. Yes, service can be slow,... More

Since the hurricane (Kenna?) washed it away..and since Bernardo himself isn't hanging in the kitchen...and since they really opened up the area to be the big public beach, it's not as good as it was years ago, but it still has terrific French-Caribbean food. The folks from the beach now come in to get drinks at the bar, and it's... More

8 years ago we brought our family to Nueva Vallarta. Our daughters were 5 and 7 years old and not interested in eating anything. We were recommended to Bernardo's by the concierge so we went. It was a lovely setting, small and intimate set right on the beach. The waiters were helpful and attentive, allowing our daughters freedom to roam... More
