We found this place when we were looking for hotels on this side of Crete and even though we didn't stay here, we did come here to eat. The food was absolutely delicious, so good we came here a second time and were just as satisfied. And the view made it all the more inviting.

We have dined in some of the best restaurants in Chania town and prefecture during our visit. The average price for a huge, delicious dinner including alcoholic beverages in local tavernas (not necessarily touristic per se) was 35 Euros. In the countryside the prices are much lower, for example, in one of the most well known restaurants, where the chef... More

The view is amazing sitting on the terrace overlooking the beautiful sea next to Elafonisi. The food is ok but the overall impression was not great, especially in terms of cleanliness

The view is, like everywhere in that area, quite amazing. The food served has a very good standard, though it is not excellent or exceeding. Service is very friendly, it's a real family business. I can recommend the Moussaka which is - and that is not very common - really good. It is not so easy as it might seem... More

We had a fantastic visit to Glykeria Taverna. We went after a great day at Elafonissi Beach. We stopped spontaneously on the drive home after seeing the view. We didn't expect such great food, as others noted. We had a tasty Greek version of bruschetta, with feta and tomatoes, in a rosemary flavoured olive oil, as well as the zucchini... More

Great food, great drink, great service, lovely people. This tavern only serves homemade cooking and it is the best I've had in Greece. We were in Elafonissi for 5 days and we didn't dare go anywhere else ! The zucchini balls are a must and the mixed meat platter gives the very best in local meat preparations.

Glykeria Taverna is located right across the road from their hotel Glykeria Rooms. At the restaurant they serve a-m-a-z-i-n-g food! I didn't expect such great tasting food in the middle of nowhere in Crete. Our food tasted home-made and very fresh! Basically, they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The family, who runs the hotel and the taverna are... More
