We went for dinner on Saturday with another couple to celebrate a birthday. Late table which suited us all. This wasn't our first visit but was the most disappointing. Greeted at entrance by door man with top hat. Too much, it's not the Savoy! Taken up to bar for drinks until our table was free which was fine and first... More

Sensational food. There is a buzz every time we have visited- its also usually very busy! We've only ever had dinner here so cannot account for any other time of day. As for service, hit and miss. Sometimes brilliant other times slow and sluggish. I guess it depends of the waiter/waitress. Many of them seem quite young and inexperienced. Cost... More

Excellllent Wednesday lunch. Just a short drive down the M11 to the excellent "Smiths". Our first visit, cannot fault the place, all very clean and tidy. The waitress was knowledgable and extremely polite and good fun. The food was fantastic great tastes and great presentation. The wine very good, not too expensive. It must be good the place was full,... More

Had lunch here with friends, the ambience, service and food are first rate, other restaurants should follow Smith's modus operandi. We selected from the two course set menu at £21 which is excellent value and choice of dishes from both courses. I really cannot fault this place a family run business since 1958. We will be trying their Wapping branch... More

Our first visit to Smith's whilst visiting friends. The food was excellent well presented, hot and delicious. There were 5 of us having lunch and no one had any complaints. Personally I had the asparagus with parma ham and it was excellet as was my chicken. We will certainly visit again when down south seeing our friends. We could do... More

Four of us went to Smiths on a Saturday evening after seeing some very good reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The place is huge, with a top-hatted doorman at the front - quite a nice touch. All starters were excellent and plentiful. I had the lemon sole special for main and it was genuinely outstanding. Food prices are at the... More
