Best restaurant in this part of the world!

We have just travelled for 3 weeks across the USA and have finished up in Puerto Escondido. This is hands down the best meal we have had on our trip. My husband had ceviche and I had fish tacos (Canadians staying next to us said Turtle Bay had the best fish tacos in town) and they weren't lying... read more

We stopped here because the outside of the restaurant look so colorful and fun, I mean the big turtle is just up my alley; so creative! I don't think you can get any more local than here, Alejandro explained how the sea food he gets is top notch local (I mean the ocean is basically right behind them) I had... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were looking for a different place to eat. Tired and hungry we simply went in because our kids were starving. To our surprise the Chef came and explained the menu. We decided on mackerel and red snapper dishes. They were both perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The tomatillo reduction on one of... No other way of putting it other than absolutely fantastic. We came here twice, and each time we both had different meals and they were all fabulous. The seared tuna with mango salsa was my firm favourite. You can see the staff cook and prepare the meals in the extremely clean and well maintained kitchen. This food is just first... More

We went here for lunch and had a fantastic meal. One of the best ceviches I've ever had, maybe the best, made from marlin and Manila mangos (which we don't get in the U.S., easily the best mango on earth) Top notch quality products. Also had the camarones a la diabla, served with a very complex dark red sauce. This... More

We came to Puerto on a visit several years ago and found this little restaurant in the Rinconada. The food was so fresh and well prepared. Now we are living here and he has expanded but still the best food you will probably find in all of Mexico. Chef Alejandro Hernandez has worked in San Francisco, CA. and brought back... More

We chose the Turtle Bay Cafe based on other Trip Advisor recommendations and it didn't disappoint. By far the best fish taco I've ever eaten. And the Prawns with mango salsa was incredible too. The staff were super friendly and the chef Alejandro always came out to check up on the meal and to have a chat

This is the first review I've ever written on trip advisor (after years of turning to the site for advice) and it is totally deserved by turtle bay cafe! The food is delicious and just what we were after! The fish taco's are out of this world amazing! Haven't found better in Mexico! Alejandro (the chef/owner) comes out every night... More
