the sunday night in guadua is a blast. good music, fireshows, breakdance acts and even some freestyle sessions of local MC's. the atmosphere is just great under the palm tree roof, or downstairs in the sand. the prices are affordable and the location just unbeatable

The owner is the most delightful gentleman I have ever met and his idea of only 2 nights a week means a great build up to the weekend. Good music, cheap drinks and a lovely vibe! 5 STARS DIEGO XXX

As regular visitors to Puerto we had heard mixed reviews about Guadua from friends...decided to check it out. We arrived prior to sunset to a full house of diners. Hostess did not know how long it would be before we could get a table (not even a guess...bad sign), but was willing to take our name down. Went to the... More

We live in Mexico and love travelling around the country. This place was spposed to offer a high end, off he beaten track unique charm. But the service was non-existent, the food genuinely cold and one staff member sarcastically told us to walk home - 40 minutes along a highway - when we asked him to check on our taxi.... More

So i spent an evening in Guadua while in Puerto Escondido. We had read about in the Lonely Planet guide and it sounded good, even if we thought it may be overdone as often happens with places that feature in Global books. Guadua was GREAT, the service was so perfect and friendly, the food was great and they had a... More

The setting is unsurpassed. You sit under a huge, modern palapa and listen to and watch the waves. On different nights we had Steak Diane and the Ahi tuna. Delicious! The tequila ceviche was also wonderful as were the desserts and margaritas. We were staying a block away so the location was perfect for us.

The building and design is gorgeous - a breath of fresh air for PE. We went for dinner first and service was good. Dinner was fine, not fantastic. I didn't mind this as I felt I was paying for the setting more than anything. We went back for breakfast which was excellent. What a great daytime menu! Huge selection of... More

Thhe food at the restaurant was without question the best we experienced in P E. It took a bit to find the place and it was absolutely empty at 8 on a Saturday night. The service was great as you might expect being the only customers until around 9 and we had three appetizers and thee main dishes all of... More
