Excellent coffee and baking - both savoury and sweet

We purchased coffee here daily since Cafecito provided the best and hottest coffee para llevar. We ate breakfast here, excellent quality, selection, service and (more than) generous portions.

Go for menu del dia, by far always the most economical way to eat in Mexico. For 85 pesos we had soup (choice of tortilla or vegetable), main (choice of a chicken or beef dish) dessert (choice of flan or pie) and a fruit water. Everything was fresh, tasted great and staff is friendly and helpful.

Place is usually full but don't understand why. Food and service is only average. Appears to be popular with the crowd who are afraid of eating any food in Mexico .

Excellent coffee, pastries, breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and more. The closest thing to a European-style cafe in PE and a good place to people watch anytime of the day or night. There are two locations, both good, but I prefer the one in the Rinconada,

El Cafecito is one of the most professionally run restaurants in Puerto Escondido. This means that your food will actually arrive in a reasonable amount of time! Always delicious!

Happy to report that after several years of slipping service and only so, so meals an effort was made to improve on all counts. There is even lIve music some nights . Good guest attention and fine location plus very reasonable prices. Go visit!

I just spent over a week up near this el Cafecito, in the Carrizalillo beach area, and ate here several times. Although it's a very good value, I often left feeling very frustrated by the service and, occasionally, by the quality of the food. Believe me, I'm in no hurry to be served when I'm on vacation at the beach,... More

It's clearly popular, the place was full when we got there at 10am for breakfast. But, my fried eggs were raw, they'd been on the hot plate for about 30 seconds, we had to ask for bread and the service took for ever. There would have been 15 wait staff just standing around chatting to each other. The food was... More

A trip to Puerto seems to always include breakfast at El Cafecito [Zicatela]. Their hot chocolate [made with deslactasado leche] is superb and starts it off perfectly for me. They have a fine selection of baked goods [rolls, muffins, etc.] if you want to sample but leave room for the meals. A favorite is their chiliquiles verde, hot cakes, huevos... More

This cafe/restaurant is always pretty busy and has a menu to satisfy everyone's needs. I stuck to the Mexican cusine and it was pretty good. Service was good considering how busy it is. Only the salsa slightly disappointment.
