Excellent seafood

What a marvellous meal we had at The Plough tonight! On the specials board River Fowey mussels followed by dressed crab. Excellent French Sauvignon Blanc to wash it down. Friendly locals and our little dog made welcome. Reasonably priced and popular!

First visit for a while under new owners A lot of good things , the place is comfortable and has an improved ambience . Good concise menu reasonable wine list Starter ; haddock scotch egg very good Main ; fish with "hand cut" chips spoilt by awful tasteless chips which could only have been hand cut by Mcain Is it... Went there yesterday, 4 adults and 2 children. I ordered chili crab coconut linguine. The linguine came swimming in a heavy sauce with no sign of either chili or crab. The other guests ordered desserts which were very bland. We also waited an hour to be served! Looking at the response of the manager to other negative reviews - he... More

Everything was lovely. Booked in by telephone with a welcoming reply, nothing was a problem. Six of us (Funsters) were celebrating a friend's birthday. The food was delicious with plenty of choice, staff were very efficient.

Visited with my wife and Mother in Law for lunch. We all had the battered fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The batter was crisp, the fish tasty and the chips rustic and well cooked. We had ice cream to finish, and all the chosen flavours were delicious. The meal, the service and the location were all... More

This is not the first time I have reviewed this restaurant, but I thought it justified an update, we have been coming to this venue for many years, but after a bad time with new owners we stopped coming. On getting the news that it had another new owner, we returned and were not dissapointed. we now return from time... More

We visited The Plough on 7th March as part of a weekend away in liskeard, what an absolutely lovely little place! Staff were very helpful and friendly, food was great value for money, the fish especially was fantastic. Just a shame about moany customers being rather snobby, there is a time and a place to have an argument with staff... More

Thank you very much for your kind review, it's great to hear that our team were "helpful and friendly and our good being great value for money." I can only apologise for the other tables argumentative outburst and we are glad to hear that their behaviour did not affect your enjoyment. I hope you are enjoying your complimentary cider glass.... First things first, our starters were lovely! However 3 out of out 6 mains were not satisfactory. We were enjoying the company of our friends and so carried on eating and didn't really make much of a fuss. A steak that was £20 was over done, the burger over done and tough and the gnocchi- tasteless. We gave feed back... More

I Feel there is no value in a procrastinated response fom myself. What I can confirm is that we did deduct the desserts from the bill as a gesture on our part, the table was checked several times during the meal and a valued female member of the team was left very upset and shaken by the experience. I would... More
