Probably the best fish and chips in the South West.

Perfectly cooked to order, in beef dripping as it should be, friendly service, good prices and free parking!

One of the best fish and chip dinners I have ever had. Me and wifey had standard cod n chips. Very good indeed, can't believe I have not been here before. Definitely worth a drive from Newquay. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌

We called in for takeaway fish n chips and we were very impressed with the quality of them, freshly cooked, nice batter and nice chips, the restaurant looked clean and tidy we will try the restaurant another time, but what a good place for food.

This restaurant has a good reputation so we decided to try a traditional 'fish and chips' lunch. The prices are more than a little on the high side but we both chose standard cod and chips with mushy peas. The cod tasted fresh and the batter crisp and light and was also perfectly cooked. The chips, however, were slightly undercooked... More

We decided to visit as seeing many good reviews. On arrival the car park was very busy and it was early in the evening but we had no trouble getting a table inside the restaurant. The Take away section is through a separate door so it doesn't effect your dining experience and its well staffed and very organised. The menu... More

Popped in whilst travelling through the area (which sadly doesn't happen very often) and had the most delicious take away fish and chips. We have eaten in the restaurant before which is equally as good but didn't have the time on this occasion. Highly recommend the food if you are in the area!

We had take a way fish and chips and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food- the batter of the fish was very light and the chips were yummy. The only downside was that it came in boxes which means more waste to dispose

On visiting the Port and Starboard for the first time I was very pleased with the lovely food, good service, cleanliness of the restaurant, and friendliness of the staff. They were the best fish and chips that I have had, not greasy and good sized portions, very good value for money. Really Ansome .

The chips are not vegetarian, they are cooked in beef fat and this is not obvious, only on asking for things to be wrapped separately were we told 'it's all cooked in beef fat anyway'. Not even the 'veggie' burger is in fact veggie. In this day to find something without a vegetarian option is rare.

The Port & Starboard is an absolute gem of a spot for the most amazing tasting, non greasy fish and chips (either sit in or takeaway) and is definitely worth turning off the main A30 at Indian Queens for. Staff are friendly, restaurant is spotlessly clean & very well presented and you will find is ample free parking in the... More
