You can't visit Puebla without trying the moles, and this is the place to sample them. A beautiful oasis of quiet near the Zocolo. The food was excellent--try the pork backbones in the salsa verde--I've never had anything like it. The prices are reasonable, excellent wine selection and superb wait staff--some of who speak English.

Muralla de los Poblanos is a truly authentic experience, in a beautiful renovated building, with top notch service and classical food from Puebla, with a modern touch. The mole poblano is delicious as is the very spicy mancha manteles. I cannot eat food that is too spicy, so I ordered the "other" mole, pipian, made from pumpkin seeds, and it... More

This was our first meal in Puebla after several days in Mexico City. The location is very central, only a few steps from the Cathedral & Zocalo. The setting is great, a roofed courtyard in an old colonial building, very atmospheric and with interesting murals. Our food was very good too. It is a bit pricey, but not outrageously so... More

this was a fun place with a nice environment that had an emphasis on the historic nature of Puebla. The food was excellent, and the maître d', Antonio, spoke excellent English and was extremely helpful and entertaining. We went with a group of six of us and it really was good value for money, especially for such excellent cuisine.

Make a reservation or plan to wait 45 minutes to an hour. The great thing about waiting is the free mezcal they serve you. Service was excellent, we ate and enjoyed the attention second to none. The Chile en Nogadad is the best I have ever had and this is in the city where it was invented. The mole poblano... More

I have reviewed this EXCELLENT restaurant before and I will do it again. The food is exquisite, the service impeccable and the location is ideal. We split a "chile en nogada" (they are large) and had some nice appetizers and enjoyed everything very much. I live in Mexico and have eaten my share of chiles en nogada, including the home-made... Food is good, not excellent, but the ambiance music is really badly chosen. Service was spotty. They have good, fresh, pulque.

Great restaurant in a beautiful setting. Quality food in small portions, a plus while in Mexico! The mole sampler was great. The chile stuffed with goat cheese was also great. The tortillas served on the side were made of fresh corn, delicious! The margaritas were great. I have food allergies and the staff was knowledgable and took great care of... More

I was told by a local that I could get the best mole in town at this restaurant , and it was true . The mole poblano was perfect! We had a pretty good time. The service was great. A little bit pricy but it was worth it . Always make a reservation cause it's pretty crowdy.
