This restaurant is a great option if you're in Puebla. Food and service were great, I highly recommend the Tacos de Chicharron Prensado and the Mole sampler.

The first time I went to this restaurant, everything seemed ideal- food, drinks, service were all great. So naturally I wanted to go back a second time. This visit was different from the first. Sure, the food was still good and they still gave complementary alcohol, but they were deceptive to me and my friends. The first time, when ordering... More

El Mural de los Poblanos offers authentic and typical Poblano cuisine but steps it up a level. The flavors are on point, portions are generous and service is pretty good. The one thing that keeps them from getting 5 stars is that the food is not inventive and doesn't blow you away. You will walk away satisfied but not wowed.

Yes, it's an expensive place but it is a beautiful venue, service is brilliant, and food to die for. Unlike other fancy places in México, this place loves it's Mexican roots and adheres to tradition. Food is 100% from Puebla, uses the original names and it is not shy to state it. So down to earth but with quality ingredients... More

I and my family spent a vacation in Puebla in december. We stayed at a downtown hotel and decided to try EL MURAL DE LOS POBLANOS for dinner. It was superb that we went there a second time two nights later. The entrance may give a wrong impression of the quality of this excellent restaurant because it looks small and... More

The first impression is the line waiting to be seated. It must be worth it. They treat guests with free booz while they wait to be seated. The food is generally not bad, but there is not wow sensation either. The mole is overrated. We had a tasting set of 5 different tastes of mole, most of them tasted strangely.... More

This restaurant has amazing local food and is a popular restaurant because its historical importance. My only complaint was that it took a while for us to get our food. Other than that staff was friendly and food was delicious. I loved that Pueblan mole! Tip: because it is a popular place you are better off making a reservation. My... More

The restaurant is kind of like a Poblano institution. With a ground floor courtyard setting facing a mural, or more intimate setting upstairs. The menu is quite extensive, and includes traditional Mexican dishes that are seasonal, such as the maguey worm, the fungus that grows on corn, and chile nogales. I chose a degustation of moles, which came with six... More

It is difficult to grasp the variety of dishes in Puebla's cuisine. Yet, this restaurant has the best. It is also the birth place of the "chiles en nogada", probably the finest seasonal Mexican dish. A modern, yet nostalgic environment complements the restaurant chef's ability to bring great flavour and presentation, to make this an experience to look forward to.
