Las Ranas

2 Poniente # 102, Puebla, Mexico
Improve this listing
Ranked #11 of 214 restaurants in Puebla
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Cuisines: Mexican
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Late Night
Description: It is located just around the corner of the street 5 de Mayo in Puebla (the most important walking street) It is 2 restaurants.. one right across the other. They specialize in tacos but they serve a few other dishes too. It is by far the best tacos in the city and I have invited friends from Greece, Norway and all over Mexico and everyone loves them so I can't understand why they aren't listed in tripadvisor yet. They are the best known tacos in the city I am sure

The tacos were massive and fantastic. They were stuffed to the brim and were rich and delicious. Unfortunately, however, we experienced the worst mosquitoes that we have seen in our month in southern mexico. My major complaint here is the waiter. He wasn't helpful at all and we had to remind him multiple times to bring the beer we ordered.... More

Tacos here were good. Ambiance fine...but really a lot of what you already have in town. So many options of which many are good. This is fine but not sure why stands out above so many others. Centrally located and larger than others

Of the best we've eaten during our time in Mexico plus the cheapest. Had a small feast and some drinks all for £10. Queues can be quite long to get in but worth the wait

We visited both branches, across the street from each other. Staff was efficient both places. It is very popular with Mexicans and tourists from afar. Safe to say it is an institution in these parts. They are open up to 10.00 which is good. Although the food was great and the price was good, I was a bit let down... More

These tacos rival the best in Mexico City. They don't skimp on the portions and the food flies out so fast it has to be fresh! The cemitas (sandwiches) are delicious. "Greasy spoon" atmosphere but who cares?!

The service and prices at Las Ranas cannot be beat! We went twice for lunch. The cochinita is so moist and delicious. The taco arabe melts in your mouth. I think that most everything was pork, and they don't offer chicken. The grilled onions are the only veggies available, and worth the few cents. We would enjoy a full lunch... More

Without question, a trip highlight dining at Las Ranas. The tacos arabes were to die for and well priced. The staff in the restaurant are super quick and friendly. Compared to the other restaurants in Puebla City, I found this one to be incredibly cheap for the amount of food you get. I always left feeling satisfied. Average meal per... More

What else do you need to know? Las Ranas has 2 locations, located diagonally across the street from each other. You may have to line up for a table, but even on the Sep 16 holiday when we went, the staff managed to get tables cleared and people seated quite quickly. You will be given a paper menu where you... This place brings so memories, I like the way they cook the meat, the tortillas taste very delicious, and pretty much everything they serve here taste very fresh, and like homemade, it's like your mom, or grandma are cooking and you just came to visit, that's how it feels in here, you sure won't leave this place with an empty... Las Ranas is hopping. Heh heh. Pun intended. They basically serve seasoned pork in your choice of tortilla or bread. That's it. Basic and oh so delicious. We were lucky and got the very last table but when we left there were at least 6 people waiting for a table. Be prepared to wait. It's worth it. Oh and order... More
