Classic Mexican Food Thoughtfully Reemagined

I stayed at the Hotel Casino where this restaurant is located and noticed the amount of people sitting at tables out front when I first stepped out of my taxi. Great location, associated with the Hotel Casino, looking across the street onto the cathedral. Serves elaborate Mexican cuisine with an International twist. We had a starter of 'chomorro' (suckling pig) tacos and a main of grilled tuna with 'adobo' (sauce made of several ingredients). They were good but not memorable. A big caveat: pick a table outdoors, because the ones... More

We had dinner here on our first night, fell in love with the food, the location and the service. We ate here 6 time in our 4 day stay, trying breakfast, lunch and dinner...had a different menu item each time and every dish we tried was amazing...the hibiscus flowers in anything are fun...will be back!

Right on the square, underneath the stone covered walkway, amidst several other offerings is Lu. The font obscures the name a bit and so even if you are looking for it, you can walk right past it without noticing at first. Despite its high ranking with the TripAdvisor crowd, I was skeptical at first because we were steadfastly ignored by... More

I do think this restaurant is worth a stop in Morelia. It offers a sampling of local specialties from Michoacán, as well as traditional Mexican favorites with a modern twist. We at dinner at Lu with a large group of friends and some of the food was fantastic, while some of it was just average. The meat seemed to be... More

The food is really good ! Local food with a gourmet touch. Is located in downtown and I suggest to seat outside, to have the beautiful views of the cathedral and the gardens.

Friends and I love to sit outside and watch all the beautiful people walk by. Breakfast is delicious, lunch/diner are exquisite. My favorite dessert is Tentacion. It is a chocolate cake, almost like a soufflé, with warm chocolate inside of it and vanilla ice cream on top.

Casona Rosa recommended we eat there. Their food is prepared well with great care. The salads are fantastic. I am a vegetarian so I had a Tarascan soup and salad. The desserts are very good also.
