A Warm welcome awaits you at the Hope and Anchor!

Great food. Very friendly service. Location is fantastic - you simply couldn't find a better place to watch the sun go down over the ocean with good food and a good beer.

I can understand that some feel the character of the pub has been lost in the refit, but the modernisation is not without sympathy and the view remains tremendous. We enjoyed our early evening meals overlooking the ocean. The food was great, especially the children's meals and service was very speedy (much appreciated by my two sons!) There is also... More

Our first visit to the newly refurbished Hope & Anchor. We were very disappointed, the staff were friendly, I chose Mussels as a main, my partner the fish pie. Both dishes tasted as if they were cheap boil in the bag meals. We will not be repeating the visit.

After walking for some hours it was wonderful to come across this place. We sat on the buge veranda gazing out to sea on a warm and sunny afternoon. Lunch was excellent. The staff friendly, efficient and superb.

We have been in the Hope and Anchor most years when visiting the area and always been happy, however not this time. The character of the pub has been ruined and you could now be in any pub anywhere. The impression we got is that it has just become a food factory. Yes the food was ok but we left... More

The food was delicious with a good selection of specials and sea food. Had a variety of ales and beers too. Would... More

We visited Hope Cove during our week long holiday in the area and decided to drop in to The Hope and Anchor for coffee. We were lucky enough to enjoy sitting on the outside deck looking over the cove and it was very pleasant, albeit a little chilly in the late April sunshine! We were enjoying the ambience so much... We have been to hope cove first weekend of may 2015 and the weather wasn't too good but the Hope and Anchor made up for our damp stay. Obviously recently refurbished to a high standard and looks stunning with fantastic views out to sea. The drinks are a bit pricey but worth paying a little extra for the location. Food... More

I have a nickname for this but probably not allowed on this website [The Hopeless W******] Having travelled down, put up tent in driving rain and wind, got soaked walking down to Hope Cove we were indeed in need of a good meal, preferably some fresh local produce. We liked the look of next door, but it was totally packed... More
