We sat in the garden, listened to Latin jazz on the sound system, and ate delicious shrimps & Mexican specialties - it was lovely! Our charming young waiter recommended the shrimp when I asked for a seafood dish that was not too hot, and it was great.

We went here to drink Margarita's. I was on the hunt for Fresh fruit margaritas and here they had the most fantastic Mango Margarita! Delicious! The best I had on this trip. A lot of places claimed that their margaritas were made with fresh fruit but this is the only place where that proved to be true. Then we had... More

We have eaten at this place no less than 8 times I don't write a review every time but beware as we keep repeat visiting this place the quality of drink and food keep slipping so not much to say other than its close to the center, and stick with the easy choices , even then don't expect to much... We had a good dinner at Nan Rosa. It is a about a block off the main square. Very festive décor with a good selection of Mexican food. We were early so the service was fast. By the time we left it was quite busy with both locals and tourists therefore we knew we had chosen wisely! Everyone was very... More

After reading the reviews of this place we decided to give it a shot. It was empty at lunch, I mean completely empty, which should have tipped us off. Someone came out after a minute and sat us. The brought out some STALE chips and salsa and took our order. She had a difficult time with our drink order, even... More

As 6 years retired SJD couple, we eat out often and always looking for new place. True Mexican "Grandma" receipts. Located on the southern end of the main SJD art walk street. Atmosphere is basic. The young staff gave us a menu with good selections (in English ) . Our table had chicken enchilada, fish and really good tortilla soup.... More

We ate here two years ago then last June found the place boarded up. So we were thrilled to see it open again last week. The restaurant has decidedly improved its appearance - the dirt parking lot has been replaced with pavers, the menus are professionally done, and the decorations pleasant. We wanted to see if the guacamole was as... More

My husband and I and two young adult kids went to the Thursday night art walk last week, which was great fun. When it came time for dinner I asked one of the art gallery owners where they go to eat and he directed me two blocks up to Nana Rosa. We had a lovely time there. The tortilla soup... More

My family and I ate at Nana Rosa's last week during the Art Walk Event. What a wonderful way to spend an evening in such a pretty restaurant. The food, service and ambiance were all first-class, real home-cooked Mexican food, and the two musicians playing throughout our meal were incredibly talented. All in all an evening to remember and we... More
