Perfect restaurant for a wedding event!

This review comes late but we hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at this restaurant over our wedding weekend (Memorial Weekend May 2014). We rented the terrace overlooking the ocean and it was absolutely stunning. Everyone raved about the staff, food, drinks and views. The owner, Daniel, was... read more

Lugareno Cafe had been open 5 days, they said, when we went there Nov. 13, 2015. This courtyard restaurant has been improved and enlarged since we were there in 2014 before the hurricane. We had live music (guitar and sax). The menu is much smaller--not a full dinner menu, but a cafe menu, with no wines, just mezcal drinks, in... More

We went to Villa Valentina for dinner and had an unbelievable dining experience. The meal was delicious - the french fries, catch of the day, and hibiscus mojito were some of the favorites - and the setting is unbelievable. We could have sat here for hours and soaked up the relaxed/rustic vibe. The restaurant itself is tucked in just a... More

We found this restaurant as we were walking to the grocery store. It was outstanding! We first had lunch there and then went back for dinner on Friday night when they had very nice live guitar music. The food was very gourmet and so good! The prices are very reasonable and the waiters are great. . I'm sorry that I... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant during a morning walk and went back for a late evening meal. The food was very tasty, the atmosphere relaxed with beautiful décor and the staff very attentive. We recommended it to several other folks we knew who had as wonderful an experience as we did. We will definitely return on future trips to San... More

We ate here in March and I had the ribs which were smothered in sauce. When I bit into the ribs they were all dried out as if they had been cooked 4 days before and reheated then covered in their sauce. My wife had a filet of beef which was covered in a very spicey pepper sauce. When I returned... More

Dear Sir, We are appalled at reading your TA message. We haven't had an issue with any of the two dishes you mentioned, let alone a client that is not satisfied with his meal and then is charged twice. We pride our selves in solving any dissatisfaction a guest extends to us right on the spot, and make it better... More

We tried quite many restaurants in SJDC and found Villa Valentina to be one the best if you want to take a break from the usual (and good) Mexican restaurants you can find around (The Hangman and Guacamayas to name a few). The entrance to the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The patio/courtyard is very pleasant with a quaint atmosphere. The... More

A friend took us to this restaurant, staff was extremely friendly, helpful and spoke good english. Margaritas were great, wine menu was nice, as they do have Wine Tasting on Tuesday nights. Courtyard was classic, had such a great vibe about the place, you could dine at a table or sit at the bar. Nice music playing in the back... More
