Best food in town

Let's start with the food. It was beyond excellent. We started with a great appetizer of fresh made guacamole and home made tortillas. There was actually a person making both. We ordered the specialty of the house which is mocaljete, the food is cooked in a stone tool similar to the mortar and... read more

My husband and I ate here after having been here years ago. He had a shrimp molcajete and said it was alright, but nowhere as good as what he had on our last visit. I ordered shrimp tacos as I wasn't all that hungry after a day in the sun. I literally took one bite and had to spit it... More

We were directed there with a free drink coupon..by our hotel. The food was mediocre to say the least. I did not like mine at all. The bill included full charges for the drinks. They corrected the bill, grudgingly, and then not for the full amount. I paid by credit card. A week after we left San Jose, my credit... More

Good traditional Mexican food. A fun place for a group, or just a nice dinner. The waiters are freindly and be sure to try a Mochate. They usually have some type of coupon available in one of the local advertisements for a free Margarita. Definitely worth checking out.

We stumbled across El Herrardero and had a great evening, the food, the value and the staff were all excellent. The choice of local dishes satisfied everyone and we had melted cheese, nachos to start then a mixture of fish and meat dishes. The atmosphere was great and frequented by locals. Excellent value been there twice in a one week... More

We stopped here for lunch on our way from Cabo to the SJD airport. The place was quiet at 2pm so we got a table right away. The patio is covered with plenty of shade and ceiling fans to keep you cool. There is parking right beside the front door also. The staff were very friendly and attentive we never... More

From the owner who escorts you to your table with a song, to the very attentive and charming waiters who whip up fundido tableside to the fabulous ceviche, AND an adorable environment, this restaurant hit it out of the park. Very reasonable prices for a lot of food. Very good margaritas!

We went to El Herrardo's twice on our recent trip to San Jose del Cabo. Thiis restaurant is known for their molcajetes, which are lava bowls that are heated and filled with your choice of meat, mixed with fresh vegetables and sauce. They are served with corn tortillas made on a grill right at the front of the restaurant. So... More

Came here twice - lunch and then dinner - be careful when ordering alcoholic drinks as I ordered a margarita and they took the liberty of using a very pricey tequila - and wine at $7/glass is no deal for Mexico but other than that the service was friendly and fun authentic atmosphere with a wide variety of authentic mexican...
