Our timeshare folks sent us to Guacamaya's for "authentic" tacos where the locals eat... that should've tipped us off. The food was run of the mill and the place was full of other touristy types. Not exactly what I would consider authentic. That said, if you don't care about being around a bunch of other tourists, the service was decent... More

We were told to go here by a random couple we met on a walk by the estuary in San Jose Del Cabo. I am so so so so so glad we did, it was hands down the BEST mexican food of the trip. I highly recommend the Al Pastor Tacos as well as the Stone Bowl. For the bowl... More

We ate their twice we liked it so much. The food was good and authentic. Don't miss this place, it helps if you speak Spanish, otherwise point out the selections from the menu. You won't be disappointed. More

Worth finding off the beaten path! We ate here twice last week. First time we split the pork stone bowl (thanks to advice on this forum) as it would have been way too much food for one! The cheese crisp was okay, glad I tried it... but the second time I just asked for chips to go with the good... More

order a special platter and share it, split an app or two and the cheese "chip" is way to big for two but fun to eat anyway. we loved it and would go back again and again. the fajita platters looked awesome to if I returned I would get one so affordable too More

This taqueria is popular with locals and tourists alike despite the effort it takes to find it. Lots of grilled meats and a broad menu of options. The staff is friendly and the margaritas are large and potent. More

We had a great evening in this off-the-beaten-path restaurant in San Jose del Cabo. The food was outstanding--and four of us had fantastic dinners (with margaritas) for a total of about $50. The stone bowl dinner was enormous, and others of us had various renditions of marinated pork. Yum! More

The reason to visit Los Guacamayas is for the authentic local food at very reasonable prices. Quesadillas are great and the pork tacos are the best tacos we've found in cabo. The restaurant is not easy to find---just north of the transpenninsular highway a short distance from San Jose's historic district. The restaurant is small---eight or ten tables, and in... More

Guacamaya's is an unpretentious and casual place for lunch or dinner. It is away from the usual tourist spots in the Chamizal neighborhood. The porc tacos and the fried chicken quesadillas are both delicious and inexpensive. However, the appetizer plate that quickly greets Gringos is not free nor are you told it is 85 pesos until you peruse your bill.... More

We went here for lunch. A little off the beaten path, but easy with a taxi. We ordered the stone bowl and some quesadilla's for the kids. The stone bowl was so good we took one home to eat later! Note that this is not for the folks trying to avoid authentic experiences, it's rustic and a little run down,... More
