June is the beginning of their low season, and thus there were not a lot of people in general at the restaurants we were ate the week we here in mid-June. I hear typically during high season you need to make reservations at restaurants. When we arrived at La Fonda, there was only another couple there. After we ate, two... More

We ventured out to La Fonda after discussing options with the concierge at Me Cabo. This place felt like authentic Mexico to me! The food was delicious as were the drinks. There is something for the adventurous eater as well as the more reserved. I recommend the taco appetizer that has fried potato skins in it...what an unexpected filling for... More

The hotel suggested this restaurant for local fare and they were spot on. The food for 7 of us was excellent. The only negative was that after tipping the mariachi band 2X, they got huffy because they wanted us to tip them again.

My wife and I went there for dinner and the enchaldas were excellent and my wife had Fish Taco and they were very good also. The Margaritas were not the best though.

Been visiting La Fonda for the last five years or so. Reliable and very traditional Mexican regional cuisine. Special recognition to the Moles and Pibil dishes. We have never had anything on the menu we did not enjoy. Tonight we had the Octopus appetizer, Lobster Burritos and Tamales Verde. Leave room for desert.

The food here is really, really cool. I had the ant eggs and the marrow... the ant eggs were delicious, but the marrow was a little gooey. I also loved the lobster, and the chile poblano soup was absolutely incredible. I dock one star for the NOISE. Holy smoke!! Please, PLEASE hang some tapestries, or put in some carpets, or... More

The only thing I liked here was the salad that you can build your own way! My husband ordered the stuffed chicken but he didn't even finish it because it was so awful. I ordered the skirt steak. I didn't like it but my husband ate it. I thought it was way over priced for the quality of food you... More

It helps to have a good map finding any restaurant in Cabo we found, but once you get there, this place was EXCELLENT! The ambiance is warm and traditional and the food was exceptional. My daughter ordered the chili rellenos which were amazing, but no matter what we all ordered, the food was delicious and the service was great too.... More

Went to La Fonda for our yearly visit. The food has dropped in quality and taste. One of our guest had the quesadillas appetizer and they were dry, hard, and tasteless. He also had the shrimp tacos which were very bland. My other half had the lobster burrito which she said was not bad. I had the Tortilla Soup which... More

La Fonda offers an incredible range of delicious Mexican food made with high quality ingredients. I can't vouch for what authentic means to others. For some, authentic is a dive spot where locals eat. This is not La Fonda. For others, it means food prepared using traditional approaches and ingredients. In this review, I use authentic to describe the mole... More
