Excellent beef roast

Very well presented roast beef Sunday lunch. Idyllic surroundings and gorgeous quaint old pub, however inside needs updating to be in-keeping with standard of food and service. Would definitely return to try out the a la carte menu and enjoy a glass of wine next to the roaring open fire.

The management at The Queen's Head promote the pub as Marlow's Little Secret, well it's not a very well kept secret, not should it be. The pub is set down a dead end lane with a small garden in front that is idyllic in the summer when the sun shines but in January not quite so appealing They have the... More

Nothing memorable about this pub, in a good location. Simple pub grub and good choice of beers. Wine by the glass. Popular with the locals and walkers but dogs not welcome !

Warm cosy atmosphere, with two real open fires, wonderful on a cold and miserable winters day. Good proper food, not reheated frozen from a supplier. Interesting menu, roasted plums, pheasant and gingerbread, to start, something weird about having gingerbread this way but it worked, followed by a good helping of nicely pink tender roast beef, good Yorkshire puds. Plenty on... More

Quite simply good food, good service, reasonably priced, nice interior, clean toilets, has an old, traditional feel. A bit out of the way, off the beaten track, so I'd imagine it relies on good word-of-mouth and online reviews to drum up the interest. Wasn't particularly busy. Pleasant overall.

Lunch with my 86 year old father and partner can be tricky as they are not too mobile, have unusual tastes and eat slowly and not very much. Could we have 2 small portions of the roast? Certainly Sir. Could we have them at the same time as out starters? Certainly Sir, Could we have their beef well done? Certainly... More

We went for a Christmas dinner, the portion size was ridiculously small! We asked if there were more vegetables coming and they said that was it. I do t understand as .vegetables aren't expensive and at £30 per head I would expect more than one potato and a couple of carrots and sprouts. We have a meal out every Xmas... More

Despite the fact that we hadn't booked and the restaurant was full, the staff managed to squeeze us in and were very friendly. The menu was full of lovely dishes and the specials board made use decide to come again with the family for an evening meal. However, we just wanted a light lunch. Hubbie had a BBQ chicken sandwich... More

I was visiting family as currently live in the US. I've rarely encountered haddock in the States, so thought I'd give this a try. Wow....best fish and chips I've had in a long time. It was listed as a "special" so I hope it's also on the regular menu. Lovely service, and I liked the fact that the waitress offered... More

It is a long time since we have had a good British Sunday Lunch, so when visiting friends they booked a table at the Queens head. The food and service was excellent, I had forgotten how good beef, Yorkshire pudding and gravy tasted. We were not hurried even though the pub was crowded, I highly recommend the pub and all the... More
