Probably the best value rooftop restaurant in town. The portions are large enough to share and this is never a problem. The chiles en nogada are the finest I have tasted as is the carrot cake. Don't be in a hurry, some other reviewers were clearly looking for fast food which this is not.

Service has been lacking of late. Food hasn't been as tasty as in past years. Don't know what has changed. Used to be a favorite. Not any more.

We ate here twice when we were in San Miguel de Allende - on our first night and on our last night. Very good Mexican food, with good service and yummy desserts. What we didn't know until friends came in and headed upstairs (we thought they were going to the washroom before dining) is that, if you keep going up... More

El Pegaso is conveniently located a few steps from the Jardin and the food is good quality and not expensive. Windows for people watching. Candles at night. Nice atmosphere.

My wife loved the strawberry cake (we took some home). I had a stew that was apparently a Guadalajara recipe - it was good. The service was nice. The restaurant does not have much "ambience" but we liked it and we went there twice for lunch. On another occasion I liked the snappe Vera Cruz.

Several people recommended this place, so we dropped in on a Monday night. We loved it. Both dishes--boneless chicken breast on a salad and pork loin with blueberry sauce and scalloped potatoes--hit the spot. This is certainly not the fanciest spot in town, but it has a great atmosphere, combining warm hospitality with professional service. I'd call its price upper-mid-range.... More

After three meals here, we are still impressed. There are options for atmosphere (a nice dining area, a casual one, and a rooftop-terrace bar. The breakfast is delightful, the best egg bennies we've had in ages. "Cappuccino" coffees are actually lattes, but they are very good (but be warned, lots of milk added). The waiters speak enough English for anyone... More

Went to El Pegaso for lunch. We had passed by several times and it is always busy! Ordered onion rings for an appetizer and they were wonderful. Grilled chicken skewers for main meal and a delicious homemade cheesecake for dessert. This is a very good place for lunch, very reasonable and the owner is very friendly.

This was an informal restaurant. At lunch there was not much atmosphere and the serving staff seemed to be rushing around delivering food or clearing tables. The food was fine though a week later all I can recall was the superb carrot cake!

We've been visiting San Miguel for years and seen many restaurants come and go. With its consistently good food and (same) friendly waiters Pegaso is never a disappointment.
