We ate at this restaurant last and again this year. The menu is prefix that varies daily. The price is 99 pesos and they do not accept credit cards. The food was great each time. The restaurant is know by the locals and this is how I learned of it. I have several pictures of the restaurant and the food that was served that I can send if you contact me.

Sabores y Salsas Monday Cooking Class

Maria the owner/chef is a delight. We enjoyed dropping in here last year and when we did again this year we learned she was offering a cooking class on Mondays and immediately signed up. We began the 10:00 am class with a delightful plate of Chiliquilles and Mexican coffee. She showed us how to... read more

Having experienced and reviewed Sabores Y Salsas on my last trip to San Miguel de Allende, we were anxious to try it again this time. It was everything we remembered - and more! Maria, the delightful chef/owner/host, offers a Sunday Buffet that we didn't know about before (hours: noon - 6:00 PM) for 99 pesos - roughly the equivalent of... More

Stopped in this modest looking place on the Ancha when our destination restaurant was closed. Lucky for us! We were served a lemongrass tea, fresh bread with herb butter, and a wonderful stacked salad before we could unfold our servilletas by a sweet and attentive staff. Maria offers a fixed menu with options that changes everyday. Second course was a... More

The brunch on Sunday was excellent all for 99 pesos - a couple of kinds of soup, two meat dishes, salads and a good selection of desserts. The Molé was some of the finest I have ever had. The green Pozole was excellent. This is a buffet on Sunday - the only problem with it is the food is just... More

This was a hard place to find..our taxi driver drove past many times so we ended up eating at Pollo Feliz..delicious chicken but that's another post. Not to be outdone, we walked along Salida de Celaya slowly and finally found Sabores y Salsas. We were so excited to try lunch as our friends rave about this place. Even the people... More

I'm not sure why all the good reviews but ... The food wasn't very good, the cost was uncharacteristically expensive for this town (even high for US), and the owner cheated us on the bill (even though we agreed before hand). So, all in all, i'd never return.

There is definitely a feeling of comfort dining at Sabores y Salsa. But this is home cooking by a gourmet chef. The prix fixe menu include salad, soup, entree, dessert and a pitcher of refreshing tea. There are always 2 entrees offered and I always have a difficult time deciding which to choose - as both are always delicious. The... More

I expected more after reading all the great reviews. Food was very bland for my taste. Maybe the Chef wasn't very inspired the day we visited. We expected more regional, traditional Mexican dishes and not chicken with curry. By the way, we ordered a pork dish but were served a chicken dish instead. Service was not very attentive, even though... More

My wife and I have a second home in SMA and love this place. They have moved from Calzada de la Luz to a newer, brighter and larger location, but Chef Maria is still there, cooking up great pre-fixed meals from 1-6 p.m. every day but Mon. and Tues. The menu changes often, and it is great fun to simply... More
