A second time visit. Nicely decorated, but like the first time hardly anyone there. Prices were extremely high and the quality of the food was average. The steak had too much fat and bone and was more expensive than any steakhouse I have ever visited. Not recommended.

Four of us had another outstanding dinner this past weekend at La Virundela. Between us we had four different entrees, several salads and some side dishes. The caprese salad was especially good, although it could have used more fresh basil. The short ribs were superb and the portion enormous. Service was excellent as always. We all agreed that the bottled, house... More

Ricardo, the host and co-owner, warmly invites inside and yreats you like an honored guest, with great humor and stories. The food is superb and portions large enough to share; the wine list is impeccible. Dee Dee, the chef and co-owner, has filled the rooms with her fantastical paintings of Argentina. You have a choice of dining al fresco or... More

3 couples, all from British Columbia, Canada had a simply wonderful dinner here on April 18, 2014, We will go back certainly. The owner/chef was a wonderful host and entertained us with wine in the back with his wood fired grill. After dinner, including desert, we ventured into the kitchen to thank the staff (including the chef and wife of... More

It was not te best place to go. You have to make a reservation 24 hours before, and your best thought is that you are going to have an exquisite meal. You will feel disappointed because of the lack of taste in the food. The owner is a pretty polite man, he will threat you like if you where at... More

My husband and I dined at the restaurant our last night in town after being here for the month. Next year it will be the first. The last reviewer from Cincinnati summed it up exactly... Rick, the owner/chef has a very warm and outgoing personality. He took us back to see his wood fired grill. The restaurant and kitchen are... More

This unique restaurant has an Argentinian owner/grillmeister, an Uruguayan cook, and an Italian waiter. It is also the best grilled steak restaurant in San Miguel. Ricardo is the grill master, and he will cook you a perfect steak to your order, perhaps with a grilled chorizo as an appetizer. If you ask him to show you the custom-made, hardwood-fired grill,... This is a unique restaurant. They will make whatever you want if you call ahead. We had the pork and it was terrific!! I told the chef I lusted for an old fashioned hip sirloin, which he called a " sexy steak" who cares. Next time I' in town that's what I'm ordering. Great service, great wine and great new... More

Three of us dined at La Virundela at the end of February. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience. After we ordered, the owner brought us to the cooking area to see the grill and how the meats were prepared. He was lovely as was our waiter, Marco, who was from Italy. We had a delicious bottle of Malbec wine, an... More

Two of us went to La Virundela on a Wednesday night at 7:30 - no one was there and no one ever came in before we left at 9:00. The prices are not $15-$30 as stated. We split a rib eye, split a caprese salad and ordered their special French fries. We each had 2 glasses of wine, coffee and... More
