We were strolling by and through the open window we saw racks of drying pasta and a smiling worker hand making the days pasta. I knew I must return for dinner. What a pleasant atmosphere, kind efficient staff, congenial owner and truly delicious food. I had the paperadelle pasta with a tasty Puttanesca Sauce. My husband ordered a pizza and... More

Great Italian food! Excellent friendly service and romantic atmosphere. The owners, Esther and Daniel are great hosts. We definitely will go back in our next trip to San Miguel de Allende. Hope to see them dance again at a milonga.

We ate here on a previous trip. It's good to know they're still here and still good. Our spaghetti and meatballs, seafood pasta, salad, wine by the carafe was just fine and a solid deal. But the knock out here is their homemade hot sauce.....garlicky and not too hot. I bought two bottles to bring home.

We stumbled upon La Grotta as we meandered through San Miguel looking for a restaurant. We loved it so much we went back twice. I recommend eating upstairs; the ambiance is charming and romantic. We were delighted to find food on the menu that we could eat since we don't eat meat. We ordered a shrimp dish and a pizza.... More

We loved our little corner with the Sangra and Pizza. Great crust with choices for toppings we do not get in Nashville.

This family-run business has outlasted many of San Miguel's restaurants that have come and gone in the last 15 years. Pizzas, salads and pasta dishes are all delicious. The sauce provided for the pizza is a secret recipe that bumps every bite of pizza up a notch. Definitely worth considering when Italian and pizza are what you want.

We came around this place by accident because even though it has flags outside, when you peek inside it looks like a small attic. Little did we now that you can go upstairs and there's a bar as well! We had pasta and it was pretty good, the only thing I really didn't like were the sangrias. I had never... More

Great service, great pizza (very nice to be able to create your own!) and an interesting and unique room. A nice alternative to all the fabulous Mexican food offerings in San Miguel, if you feel like something different.

Park like setting with lots of grass and trees. The man-made cave with hot water is fun. Very relaxing with lots of pools, not always full but there is a selection of a few that seem to always be full. Each year they make some improvements which is nice to see. They also have a restaurant and snack area. There... More
