Amazing restaurant, and unless you are staying at the beautiful Inn on the side, you will definitely need a car or taxi. The food is superb but the best part is the view and the relaxing ranch atmosphere. You can really spend all day just relaxing and having drinks. They also have a pool and a life size chess game,... The hotel is just 10 to 12 minutes far from downtown, the map provided by the hotel staff while reserving is not 100% clear. We were a little bit skeptical, but once we passed the main door of the property, our faces changed from doubtful to shocked/impressed. This is without a doubt, the best place we've stayed in Mexico. The... More

Juan Carlos Escalante and his wife used to own Gallo and Nirvana (both restaurants) in San Miguel. The places were closed and substituted with this new incredible adventure in the countryside. The hotel/spa is beautiful, especially for couples. If you are looking for a place to relax and be pampered then look no more. Besides, the food and service are... More

Juan Carlos knows how to run this upscale restaurant. Certainly worth the trip out to the country. The food is excellent, best service in San Miguel and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Very professional staff who are well trained. Breath in the clean fresh air and enjoy the spectacular views. Looking forward to my next visit!

My family likes to hang out at 4-5 star hotels/resorts both during the week as well as on weekends. We initially visited Nirvana Restaurant Retreat a few months ago and were not impressed with our first experience. Food was decent, service staff and management lacked spirit of service, pool water did not appear clean, overly formal environment, not a kid/family... More

You need to take a taxi if you don't have a car because this is about 20 minutes outside of Centro but well worth it. We had "comida" and our lunch lasted 3-1/2 hrs because we so enjoyed the setting, food and service

Juan Carlos has a new extensive menu which is fantastic...so much too choose from. I always finish with his delightful basil orange sorbet. His staff is so professional and friendly. A great place to spend a lazy afternoon.

If you look for a quiet place to have lunch, in the middle of nowhere, this is the place to go. After driving outside of San Miguel Allende, you discover this Oasis. Food was very good with a big menu, offering choices for everybody. Service was unique with very personal attention for all the staff. View was fascinating when you... More

Overwhelmingly outstanding location, menu, bar, service. I was really impressed with this place and felt like I was in SF, Napa, Brentwood or some very upscale spot and had to remember I was in Mexico. Not much more to say about it except don't miss it.
