We had a a very relaxed meal, only our 2nd night in SMA, so can't copare to other places, but value for food and service we thought was excellent. We had a salad, shrimp starter and salmon and a bottle of wine and 2 desserts, all of which were very good. Our server Felix and the rest of the staff... More

Prices are very high. Setting and service are great, but food is overlooked and bland. I had salmon and veggies. Both were steamed to death.

My husband and I have dined here three times so far. We love the beautiful courtyard setting. Antonio has been an excellent server all three times. He is fluent in English and French encase your Spanish is lacking. He also has a wonderful memory, if you couldn't remember that bottle of you loved the last time. Starting with house made... More

We dined at Andanza and while the space was beautiful and overall the food was wonderful, it was so cold that we could see our breathe while sitting the table. There were a dew heaters at other tables but despite asking one was never brought to our table. By the end of dinner everyone was really uncomfortable and did not... More

Had our Christmas dinner in here today and great things were: +great live music +good service +strong effort with the food Now, food was completely average at most +turkey was hard, not juicy, completely dry +pumpkin soup too sweet +the rest unmemorable, far away from high-end, for 890MXN per person -- not worth it. Nirvana is way. Better! I would... More

Most hotels bars are average at best - not this one. The bar is very pretty with good lighting and nice woodwork. The staff make you feel welcomed and Jose Luis makes a great margarita. We were staying in the hotel and this was perfect for meeting up and having a drink and appetizers.

Having seen the menu on an afternoon walk we returned for a quiet mid-week evening dinner. As it turned out, we were the only guests this evening. And that was ok because we were treated royally by our server, Israel. He was wonderful and attentive throughout and then spent time talking afterwards with us. As for the dinner food itself... More

Initially my wife and I had only intended to have a drink in the lounge and move on to another restaurant for our dinner. After seeing the connecting Andanza restaurant and having been served impeccably by Jose Luis in the lounge we decided to stay there for dinner. It was a wonderful decision. From the gorgeous setting to the impeccable food... More

The Sierra Nevada Hotel is affiliated with the Sazon cooking school. We were expecting fresh food perfection. We were mildly disappointed. The chicken in Mole' sauce was very good but the accompanying vegetables were limp and tasteless. My wife had a good but not great steak. The specialty tamale dish was also excellent. We were surprised that the food was... More

We just returned from a remarkable trip to the beautiful city of San Miguel de Allende. The ONLY bad (terrible, actually) experience we had--a "meal" (if I could call it that) at Andanza at the "Orient Express" hotel Casa de Sierra Nevada. Things went from bad to worse, and down hill very quickly. We were immediately served with a cevice... More
