Description: Hank's is the new name of the famous Harry's Restaurant with 12 years of history in Mexico, since 1999 in San Miguel Allende and since 2004 in Queretaro. Hank's is a bit of Louisiana and its "French Quarter", which offers the traditional Cajun cuisine from New Orleans. The atmosphere at Hank's is incomparable, you can enjoy a delicious dinner or spend a pleasant evening in the bar, drinking a margarita, a martini or a devastating hurricane while listening to jazz music.

From the comments of other reviews, Hanks is the most happening bar in San Miguel de Allende. Just not our kind of place. Loud, loaded with older expats. Enormous margaritas 2x1, but terrible tequila -- the kind that knocks you out and leaves you with a headache. Mediocre appetizers. With so many wonderful eating and happy hour options in San... More

Food was awful service was horrible. People complain about the gringos but what they should really complain about I show terrible this establishment is.

Our hotel in Guadalajara recommended this place as Harry's (apparently the name has since changed to Hank's). The BLT with Salmon was excellent as was the Fish sandwich. Both came with onion rings that were so good we didn't need anything to dip them into. The service was attentive and friendly. Margaritas were very good and not overpriced.

The mojitos were good, (and two for one at lunch) but the food was awful. The fried oysters were nothing but breading. The raw oysters were very small. The chicken wings were okay, but overall, our meal for 4 was very disappointing. Wouldn't go back for lunch or dinner.

I had the seafood crepes this time and loved them, wonderful flavor. The bread pudding was amazing as was the death by chocolate. We shared desserts around the table. Wait staff wonderful and attentive. My husband had the chicken rochambeau, which was tender and well seasoned, excellent with creamed spinach. We love Guillermo Jamaniego!

I frequent Hanks in Querétaro, but this was my first time at the San Miguel Hanks. The average meal here ranges from $130-$250 pesos, depending on what you get. I highly suggest my personal favorite item on the menu, the Four Cheese Soup. It comes in a bread bowl, and every spoonful is a little bit of heaven! My sister... More

For some reason this restaurant decided they needed to reflect New Orleans rather than Mexico.... The music was good, not too loud, the wait staff was very nice and the food was surprisingly good given that this is a tourist restaurant. And, there were locals in the restaurant, which is always a good sign.

We ate there twice during our stay. I had the gumbo for lunch and my husband a fish poboy, we were impressed. The gumbo was tasted. We returned for a wonderful dinner, I had the petite filet rare and mashed potatoes with awesome cream spinach, my husband had the crab cakes, he loved them. We had key lime pie and... More

We just had happy hour or late night drinks here. The service was great and very friendly. The happy hour is two for one for just about every drink and served with spicy popcorn. Lots of ex pats if you crave an English speaking experience

I don't like giving bad reviews, but our experience with Hank's New Orleans Cafe & Oyster Bar was not what we had hoped for. Being on a budget we avoided going there since it has the rep of being expensive. That was not the problem. We sat at the bar since like Yogi Berra said, "nobody goes there anymore, it's... More
