For what it's worth, this seems to be the place where every North American expat in San Miguel de Allende congregates; I heard as much (if not more) English than Spanish spoken here. Food is pretty decent; huge servings too. Happy hour has a good 2 for 1 deal on drinks.

As you might expect from a New Orleans restaurant smack dab in the middle of colonial San Miguel de Allende, Hank's is expat central. The happy hour scene here is loud and raucous -- and you'll hear plenty of English. Big groups are the order of the day. No one appears to eat and drink in groups of fewer than... More

Taco Tuesday - 40 pesos for beef tacos or a beef burrito. They were both good and the taco wears a crunchy shell - hard to come by in Mexico. Grab a table by 4:30-4:45 or you won't get one since the place becomes a mob scene after that. Happy hour is 5-7 every day and that's another reason the... More

Hanks seems to be a great gathering spot. They have 2 for 1 happy hour specials daily and the ambiance is friendly and welcoming.

I have never been here for dinner,I walked by and it is a busy place! More like a party place, At lunch, it is quiet, the food is great quality, great favors , I had the meatloaf ,and it was a good choice,I bit spicy, just enough to remind you it is a New Orleans creole place.

Selection of dishes was excellent. from the appetizers to the main courses. I enjoyed the French dip. My wife had the tuna salad, both were great.

Very nice place with good food and a good selection of wine. The bar also looked fully stock. A little pricey however its a good place to relax after a long day of sight seeing.

My boyfriend and I had planned on going to another restaurant but it was closed. Hank's was close by and had a happy hour 2 for 1 drink special from 5pm to 8pm on a Sunday so we thought we'd give it a try. (Note: The drink special only works in the bar area, but there are small tables where... More
