Really is a very fancy restaurant and the food is very good. One of the few places that will take a credit card.

La Providencia is probably the highest end dining you'll find in Zipolite. The food is very well prepared and presented -- I had shrimp in a curry sauce -- and I don't think anything on the menu was over about $10 USD. A great bargain for a great meal, and the ambience is equally stunning other than one rather garish light... More

Ok if you are sick to death of the dirty dog and cat infested places. GO HERE!! Javier is amazing. You will meet up w him when you make your reservation and all thru your experience. Ok there was a cat here and yes a customer brought their dog BUT still it was so above all the rest! My fish... More

Wanted to try the steak to see if it was as good as at Posada Mexico but they had no steak. Ordered fish and it was much, much better than any other fish I have had in the past three weeks wandering along the coast. I'm only 67 so I felt like a teenager in the crowd of Soon to... More

Super gourmet meals! Once we discovered the food we went 3 out of 5 nights. Reservations needed. Super sweet part owner Javier made everything about the place special. Easy taxi ride from anywhere including San Agustinillo and Mazunte. Everything on the menu is superb! Prices in line with other restaurants make it a real bargain for such excellent dinners.

Best dinner in town! The quality of the food as well as the preparation and presentation were that of the finest restaurants of the world. Not to be missed if visiting

Everyone else is right; this is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Zipolite and one of the best I have eaten at anywhere. The owner/chef presents a truly imaginative combination of interesting, fresh and succulent foods further enhanced by its superb presentation.

We have eaten at La Providencia before, in their previous location. Some of the best food anywhere. Every little bite we had was magnificient. They have wine to match, and while it may be a weeee bit expensive from a beach town perspective, it is well worth it, and so much more value for what you get than a good... More

After reading reviews I tried to eat here but arrived early. The restaurant opens at 7pm. You should probably know this beforehand because this guy at the entrance seemed very angry about us coming in to the place thinking we could get a meal. He was very arrogant and rude and quickly dismissed us and told us there was no... More

Javier G, Propietario at La Providencia, responded to this review

We feel we must clarify the above misunderstanding. First, the incident did not happen at the entrance of our restaurant. You walked through the service area, did not stop to ask anyone anything, and proceeded to walk straight through to the hotel area (which is private) "looking for tables", which is where you were stopped and you said that you...
