Summer daze

This is a picturesque pub next to a canal. It has an interesting clientele of all walks of life. It has a quirky and pleasant décor. Our meal was great, the staff were friendly and we had a tranquil time chilling out in the campsite area next door.

My wife and I had spent the day at Avebury and were on our way to Amesbury and needed a place to stop for a quick bite to eat, we saw the sign and pulled in. I had a burger and a pint of Wadworth beer, my wife had a cup of tea and a panini. The service was fine... More

Just stopped by for a pint while out walking, good cider selection and no problem coping with a hoard of wet walkers. Did not eat so could not comment. The back room ceiling is to marvel at... crop circle central.

The barge is a haven for freaks and weirdos of all kinds. Beautiful location by the river, relaxed atmosphere and live music events. Friendly staff and good beer. Child and dog friendly.

This is my local pub, Hadn't been in a couple years from bad experiences with food (e.g worms in salad & mouldy bread) decided to give it another go as the pub had had a revamp. Inside the pub music was loud & floors were dirty. Outside eating tables had dirty plates that did not get cleared for the 2... More

Lovely setting , utterly marred by lunch . Indifferent service and a total lack of hygiene sapped our appetite which was utterly extinguished by woeful food [ much simply uneatable]. Never again. Such a shame .

Had lunch there today. The menus were dirty and sticky. In the daylight coming through the windows between us and the other table, we could see the glasses brought to them were dirty and smudgy. Our food was tepid. My lasagne was awful, worst I have ever had, the pasta was dried out and tough, the meat was also dry... More

Close to Avebury, this place was funkily wonderful. Loved the staff. We came after hours and they still took time to serve us some dinner. Irresistible...
