We loved the website and the kids were really keen to pay the site a visit. Th ecamping field is nice and flat and we were m,ade very welcome by the resident supervisor who took £7.50 per person and left us to find our own spot. The toilet block is small but it all works fine and everyone was really... More

A large group of us stopped here for lunch mid-cycle ride. The setting is beautiful, right next to the canal - sit outside if the weather is good. Good food selection, including sandwiches - all reasonably priced. Service was friendly and swift. Would return.

Arrived Sunday evening & parked our motorhome in the campsite. Barman was welcoming & we chose a pint of croppie & one of cider. There was only one barman & he was very busy taking both drink & food orders, he also took our camping fee( £7.50 per person). we had to wait a few minutes to order our meal.The... More

Stopped for lunch at the Barge Inn. The back field behind the pub is filled with campers and people of all persuasions. It's a Croppie (Crop Circle followers) place. The pub served good sandwiches but the service was a bit haphazard. Water is difficult to get. We ate at picnic tables overlooking the canal on the side of the restaurant... More

Sun was shining the beer was flowing and everybody was friendly and relaxed. Went into the bar to meet a great crowd of... More

Stopped here for lunch part way through a long walk. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was not too busy even though it was a sunny Sunday. There was no problem getting a table outside. The barman was very friendly and helpful. When it came to making a decision on which cider to have generous tastes were offered.... More

WE called in after a walk with family on a Sunday. Excellent service and tasty food. Only problem was my roast could have been hotter so got cold even quicker as we were eating outside. Good selection of ales and some brewed on premises. Recommended.

Called in The Barge two weeks ago, we had a lovely meals, my hubby had fish and chips, I had ham, eggs and chips. They were cooked beautifully, and yes we had a short while to wait, but as the food is cooked to order, one doesn't expect to be served immediately, unless of course it's all microwaved. The staff...
