Dropped in for a light lunch after a long muddy walk along the canal. We were made very welcome and our dog was too. Lovely atmospheric bar area. We had home made soup and it was delicious. Will be going back for a proper meal soon.

What a great place for a relaxed and chilled dining experience with great ale and cider to with your meal. Particularly recommended cider 'Away with the Fairies'! Visited here on a canal boat holiday in the school holidays and almost stayed here for the duration... Food well recommended - good quality, choice and speed of service. Beer and cider also... More

Called in here when I was working away and stopping in the area on my own, was made to feel welcome and had a great meal (menu is pub food as others have said but it is good pub food freshly cooked). The locals are welcoming even if they do have more than their fair share of characters who seemed... More

This place is situated on the Canal and ideal for stop off for a pint trundling up and down in a boat/barge. Seating inside and out and a good view. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming at the back there is a TV and Pool Table. Clientele is eclectic and mainly locals. We had an early dinner. Menu is... More

Called in to The Barge on the first and last days of our canal holiday. The service was very good and the food was, for the price, quite acceptable although not outstanding. This beers are excellent and there is a friendly and rustic feeling to the place. If you want comfort and sophistication then this is probably not the place... More

The Barge is the centre for crop circles in Wiltshire is is frequented by an eclectic mix of customers. The range of ales and ciders is good (Try "Away with the Faeries" cider - awesome) and the setting on the Kenneth & Avon canal is pituresque. Worth a visit.

Went for lunch, the soup of the day was recommended it was celeriac and apple but you couldn't taste the celeriac, not pleasant, then my husband opted for fish and chips which he said was okay nothing to get excited about though, I chose a steak and local ale pie, mashed potatoes and peas, I have never in my life...
